Built for technical hiking and mountaineering, Tubbs Mountaineer snowshoes are ready to take you deep into the backcountry and up and onto the highest peaks. Effectively and efficiently offering flotation and maneuverability, Mountaineer snowshoes provide the high performance needed to tackle extreme adventure in demanding winter conditions. Mountaineer snowshoes are available in three sizes. Measuring 8" x 25" each, Mountaineer-25 snowshoes are suitable for a total weight (user and gear) of 120-200 pounds. At 9" x 30" per shoe, Mountaineer-30 snowshoes are suitable for a total weight of 170-250 pounds and Mountaineer 36 snowshoes (10" x 36" per shoe) are suitable for a total weight of 220-300 pounds. Comfort and maneuverability are key elements of backcountry performance and Tubbs tackles both concerns with the design of the bindings used in their snowshoes. Mountaineer snowshoes utilize the innovative Revolution Response II (RII) binding. This binding provides shock-absorbing lateral flex, ensuring that your foot remains in a natural position even when you tackle side slope traverses. This design also maximizes crampon penetration in the snow base, ensuring efficient control and balance. The rotation also enables the tail of the Mountaineer snowshoes to drop away from the binding as you hike, effectively shedding snow, reducing resistance and minimizing the fatigue associated with carrying the unnecessary weight of clinging snow. The base of the RII binding provides maximum support for your boot, securely locking the heel in place. The base is fully adjustable to accommodate varied boot widths. The tapered frame of each Mountaineer snowshoe is constructed of strong, incredibly lightweight Momentum SuperLite 7000 aluminum. The tapered tail and technical rise of the nose of the frame enhance balance and provide excellent flotation. These ergonomic features allow you to maintain your normal walking stride, making Mountaineer snowshoes extremely maneuverable. A
