Summary: I LOVE THIS MACHINE
Comment: Margaritaville DM0500 Bahamas 36-Ounce Frozen-Concoction MakerAfter trying several blenders, and a large "margarator" that broke twice, I wanted something that really did the job. Got it with this one. Took no time at all to figure out how much liquid to how much ice. It is great. It really keeps up, even with a large crowd. It is fun to use too. I highly recommend it to anyone that really enjoys a good margarita.

Summary: Margaritaville maker
Comment: This machine works like a charm and is so easy to use. Every household should have one of these not just for margaritas but other slushie type summer drinks. It is very easy to use and works very fast. Takes very little effort to clean and the only draw back is it is a little large to sit on the counter for everyday. I follow directions by taking the ice out of the freezer about 15 minutes prior to using the machine. I haven't had any problem to date and would recommend this to everyone.

Comment: As a seasoned margarita maker/drinker this machine is wonderful. A little pricey, yes, but worth it. We have three in the family and everyone is thrilled, no complaints. Just follow the instructions and you won't be disappointed.

Summary: Great Choice over the DM1000 and DM2000
Comment: I picked up the DM0500 model after some extensive shopping around for one of the Margaritaville blenders. This one doesn't hold as much ice as the others but it holds enough for one pitcher worth of drinks. It also doesn't have the fancy buttons that the others have that denote "mudslide," "daiquiri," or "Margarita"(I've heard there is little difference in these settings).
That is the main difference between this model and the others. It had the standard shave only/ blend only switch and a start button( more on that later).
The blender itself is very nice it has some great artistic accents like behind the pitcher on the machine is a metal engraving of a palm tree and a sea plane. The construction is easy and it works right out of the box. All you have to do is attach the ice hopper and you're finished.
Some of the negatives though are that the metal ice chute (that's what I call it) shifts up and down so that it fits perfectly and tightly to the pitcher which is nice except that it doesn't seem like it is extremely sturdy but it hasn't broken yet so I guess I should report that if it does.
The Start button is nice it makes a drink about the consistancy of a smoothie from smoothie king. I enjoyed it alot. The ice hopper shreds ice like a dream and the seal on the top if fantastic. I noticed some people complaining that it spilled and I have had no such problem.
I would highly recommend this model over the others for it's reasonable price and great offerings.

Summary: Great Ice Shaver and Mess Maker
Comment: This machine looks attractive and is formidable in size. The pitcher has a typical 36 oz capacity as is clearly indicated on the side of the vessel. After pouring 24 oz of liquid in the pitcher, I hit the auto blend button and the machine began depositing that frozen concoction all over the counter. A second, more restrained, attempt using a 6 oz can of frozen daquiri mix and 6 oz of rum produced another sticky overflow situation. A third attempt to prepare the same 12 oz liquid mix using manual control of the blender proved that you could only get 4 drinks "cleanly" out of the device by stopping midway in the blending process, pouring half the contents of the pitcher into the 4 glasses, and then continuing the blending process through a second pass to get enough to fill the 4 glasses. Any blender that works like this can hardly be called a "party machine."

This new innovative Margaritaville Bahamas Frozen Concoction Maker will make the perfect frozen drink, smoothie, daiquiri or margarita every time! This machine utilizes 2 motors, one for shaving (not crushing) the ice and the second motor for blending your drinks. A great design for exceptional performance!
