Crescent Moon designed the Mag 9 Hiking Snowshoe for lightweight performance on a grab-bag of wintry terrains. The Mag 9 features the same SPL (single pull loop) binding as the famed Gold 9 shoeincluding cam-locking buckles and secure gel polymer stirrupsexcept the Mag uses an aluminum traction system for a lighter overall weight. Crescent Moon constructed the frame from welded magnesium instead of traditional aluminum, which shaved off nearly a pound. The TGS decking replaces PVC for reduced environmental impact. Steel three-claw crampons give these backcountry snowshoes a solid bite.
