Summary: Sunshine it is
Comment: Get ready to get energized. Great music, great lyrics, great voice and the arrangements only get better with volume. This is not background music; it takes the bumps out of the day! The better the sound system, the better this CD is.... Would recommend and this is my first CD by Natasha.

Summary: A Strong Pop Effort...
Comment: I knew about Natasha from her first album, which I've yet to buy. But,bought this one for whatever reason and was not disappointed.I'm a fan of clever pop and this one falls under that category.Pocketful of Sunshine,Love Like This,Say It Again,Backyard and Not Givin' Up highlight this effort. It has a fine mix of upbeat pop and slower ballads.I would guess if you bought her first effort, you should get this one for sure. I will shortly.Than I can compare. But for now,I will enjoy the soft and relaxing sounds of this effort.A solid 4 for strong pop album.

Summary: Pocketful of Sunshine
Comment: As often happens, the follow up to the last album is disappointing, in that it lacks the freshness and originality of her previous hit. It's moderately good, but not a purchase I would recommend. I would have been content hearing the singles on the radio occassionally.

Summary: Sunshine In All Its Glory
Comment: Natasha is back, with a whole masterpiece of sunbeams and blue skies trailing behind her. Pocketful of Sunshine kicks off beautifully with "Put Your Arms Around Me," rhymthically jazzy and sunshine-brilliant. The rest of the tracks follow in the same format: Smooth Rhythm and Blues with optimism and romance lacing Bedingfield's words. The lyrics are well written, compassionate, and catchy, a splendid follow-up to unwritten. It explores a variety of feelings, from the apphrehension of falling in love in "Who Knows," to the self-appreciation in "Freckles."

Sometimes the sunshine in the tracks gets a little overwhelming; moods change, and sometimes you need some different. Negative people may decide this album as unrealisticly sunny or sappy. However, I find this another excellent work from Bedingfield. I'll keep my sights optimistic for her next album!

Overall: 4.5

Comment: Since Unwritten, I have been in love with her music. This CD just confirms how wonderful and talented she is!!!

Editorial Reviews:

On Pocketful of Sunshine, Natasha Bedingfield sounds like Joss Stone only bouncier. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, the brightness and buoyancy of this record will keep it spinning long after CDs that shoot for hipster credibility--with funked-up bells and fancy production whistles--have been deposited back into their jewel cases for all eternity. Check it out: "Love Like This," with Sean Kingston, puts its hands in the air for puppy love--the kind that'll bring you back to your "middle school kiss"--and a couple of other songs follow the youth-themed suit. "Backyard" time-travels to an idyllic childhood, while "Freckles" fleshes out, for the benefit of the insecure, the beauty in imperfections. Elsewhere, Bedingfield is her indomitably upbeat self. Opener "Put Your Arms Around Me" reeks of reassurance and tenderness. "Happy" implores would-be gloom-and-doomers to snap out of it, and while the title track doesn't wander all that far lyrically, it benefits from a chanted verse brimmed in (positive) attitude. The vibe, overall, is beach-blanket warm and blue-sky ready. Sunshine earns a pocketful, if not more, of pop-music props. --Tammy La Gorce
