Customer Rating: Summary: ecclectic masterpiece Comment: I ordered countertenor Fernando Lima's very first masterpiece from Amazon last week and I can't wait to find out how his career is going to develop and what other miraculous and ecclectic sounds he's going to offer us in the next few years because I have not been able to play anything else since I received his album 'Pasión'. This album has become absolutely essential! I had first experienced Fernando Lima's breathtaking countertenor voice and irresistible aura through his beautiful duet with Sarah Brightman on "Pasión" in Vienna, Austria, and on her own superb album 'Symphony' but I just couldn't get enough of Fernando's heavenly vocal caress on that song and had to get more, more, more. So yes indeed, I got more than I could even wish for because his album 'Pasión' is a goldmine for the purest and most satisfaying doses of wholly encompassing warmth and glimpses of heaven. There is so much to feast on that you will keep wondering what touched you the most: his nape-tingling vocalises on Gabriel Fauré's "Pavane" or his divine hommage to mothers on "Oh Madré Mía" or his exquisitely delicate rendition of traditional melody 'El Condor Pasa'? Sure, but then what about the out-of-this-world sense of total peacefulness of "Nana" and "Guardian Angel" or the addictive beauty of "Venezia" or "En Aranjuez Con Tu Amor"? And then just when you think that "Ave María" has to be his most touching vocal of all, you realize that man! it's the insanely catchy and jazzy Brazilian-ish song "Soon" that has you hooked and on your knees begging for more! This is pure bliss!
PS: if you purchase Fernando Lima's album from Amazon, don't be confused by the fact that it is indexed and attributed to musician Nelson Rangell when you order, it is Fernando Lima's album, don't worry. Amazon needs to correct that. But kudos to all the musicians who accompany Fernando Lima on his album and to Rob Mathes for superb arrangements!
Customer Rating: Summary: A woolgathering moment Comment: Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly - Langston Hughes
I love this CD. I ordered it from Amazon along with a CD by Sarah Brightman. It was only 4 or 5 days before I got my order. I love his voice; it puts me in a woolgathering moment.
Customer Rating: Summary: Phenominal Voice Comment: Fernando Lima has a truly remarkable voice. I found all of the tracks well worth listening to which in itself is great. Definately great quality and a keeper for those with an appreciation for smooth captivating vocal.
Customer Rating: Summary: A New Star Comment: Fernando Lima has a lovey countertenor voice and the selections on this album are appealing. This is not classical music, but a classically trained voice singing very accessible music. I predict he will go on to become a great success in the USA. If you like Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, ethereal Celtic music, you will like this.
Customer Rating: Summary: an excellent countertenor Comment: I'm really impressed with this singer. It's rare to find a good countertenor these days, and rarer to find any singer at all who doesn't push his range until his voice is warped beyond recognition; Lima is really amazing. His voice is ethereal, delicate, and heavenly.
Track #2 is a duet with sarah brightman (also featured on her new album).
