Summary: Repetitive and eventually annoying
Comment: Well this album started out pleasant enough, but as it went on the songs got more and more indistinguishable from each other and more and more irritating. The one saving grace is the dance remix of Dead Sounds, but that actually doesn't appear to be on the version you're selling.

It's a shame, because this album *could* have been good. It had loads of potential, but I cannot bring myself to listen to it. Perhaps it would be good background music for a shop.

Summary: they're back!
Comment: After Pretty In Black, I was about to ditch the Raveonettes. But PIB is still not a bad disc to be fair.
Lust Lust Lust is a welcome return to form though.
The mash of The Cramps & the Jesus & Mary Chain is just magical.
From start to finish I was transfixed (as I was when I first caught the Attack of The Ghost Riders vid on MTV).
Only let down for me is the sleeve. I really enjoyed the old style sleeves & this one makes my eyes water after 30 seconds.
Hope the next one is as good.

Summary: The Raveonettes - Lust Lust Lust 7/10
Comment: Coming off the heels of their sole major-label record, Pretty In Black, many thought that the Danish couple of Sharin Foo and Sune Rose Wagner would continue the commercial, 50s-pop-fixation of that record. However, with their switch back to an indie label, Lust Lust Lust arrives as a ringing endorsement of their older, fuzz-guitar noise rock.

Opener "Aly, Walk With Me" starts off with a slick drumbeat and a guitar that threatens to overcome the track with reverb. Foo's and Wagner's androgynous vocals are a highlight of the whole record, floating along smoothly in sharp contrast to the bursts of raw noise that the Raveonettes specialize in.

Those same effects, however, are often a detriment to the band's sound, as is apparent in the annoying static effect in "Sad Transmission" and "Expelled from Love," sometimes sounding like you're listening to the band play on a distant AM station located somewhere underground.

Overall, Lust Lust Lust is a strong continuation of the band's pop/noise blend that can at once be sweetly enchanting and nostalgic while still sounding unmistakably fresh.

Summary: The Ravonettes-Lust
Comment: Great Album-Aly,Walk with me will be a classic! Love the sound of the entire album. But, all the songs sound too much the same. Still I am very happy with the album. I look forward to future music produced by the Ravonettes

Summary: What more could you want from the Raveonettes?
Comment: Before getting into this review more in-depth, let me summarize Lust Lust Lust by saying it perfectly blends the noise-rock elements of Chain Gang of Love and Whip It On with the more poppy, 60's-esque feel to Pretty in Black. This is their best album thus far.

My personal favorites on this album include the bass-driven opening track Ally, Walk with Me which contains noise-a-plenty for all you Reid Brothers fans, the very catchy Dead Sound, You Want the Candy (a pop song), and Blitzed with its haunting "let me hold you one more time." Almost every song on the album is excellent, with the exception of Expelled from Love which I think Sun and Sharin intended to set the stage for the upbeat You Want the Candy.

For all you fans that complained about PIB, I think this band listened. They recognized what had gained them a cult following and they returned to it, but with a tinge of Motown/Bee-bop/60's whatever you want to call it. It's unique and currently on my ipod favorites. Keep 'em coming!

Editorial Reviews:

This Danish duo have re-emerged with an album that perfectly distills the band's 60s noir-pop songcraft and fuzz-guitar clamor into a melodic, sensuous voyage through the layers of desire. Showcasing a broader stylistic pallete and a newly cinematic sense of drama, on "Lust Lust Lust", the band retains the unique, compelling combination of sexy pop songs and rock 'n' roll urgency that have made them critics' darlings. Features two North America-only bonus tracks. Vinyl includes a bonus 7-inch and full digital album download. Already dubbed "one of the first great new albums coming out in 2008" - The Tripwire.
