Customer Rating: Summary: Bella, A True Love Story Comment: I've been following the movie Bella since it's intial beginning in 2006 and finally watching the movie it did not disappoint. It's hard to avoid cliches when writing about Bella because it wears its heart on it's sleeve. It's a movie with heart, a message, a purpose and lot's of love. The acting is amazing. The chemistry between the two lead actors Eduardo and Tammy is real. With a lot of mindless "garbage" out in theatres and available on DVD this is must have. Do yourself a favor and buy this DVD and share it with friends and family.
Customer Rating: Summary: beautifully made fim Comment: one of the best movies i've seen, especially the acting. a story that shows how the act of reaching out to help others can lift you out of your own pit.
Customer Rating: Summary: Inspiring and real characters...Great mix in a movie Comment: Just watched Bella for the second time. It is an excellent film with a mix of central characters dealing with real-life problems. The various conflicts came to light in unconventional ways (some through flashbacks) which kept my interest. By the conclusion of the story, their decisions demonstrate love and real compassion. I was struck by the profound impact the characters had on each other.
On a side note, Bella's writers and actors stated that they were delibrately attempting to combat years of Hollywood's stereotyping of Latinos. The central family in the movie(Puerto Rican/Mexican) comes across as intelligent, hardworking, giving, dedicated to each other, and lots of fun. Congratulations on a job well done!
Buy this movie...you'll want to lend it out to others.
Customer Rating: Summary: Bella es bellisima Comment: En pocas palabras esta es una de las mejores peliculas romanticas de todos los tiempos. Te la recomiendo
Customer Rating: Summary: Need more information Comment: I heard such great things about this movie. It's not really for kids - the topics are too deep and the scene where the child is hit by the car was too much for my kids. Mostly the movie didn't fill enough information. Through the whole movie we were waiting for the pieces to fall together and they never really did. Is there another version of the movie - like an uncut version?

Life is a complicated journey in which right and wrong are sometimes indistinct and where the things that really matter are often unclear. Bella is a powerful, leisurely-paced film in which Jose (Eduardo Verastegui) and Nina (Tammy Blanchard) struggle to do what's right while seeking meaning in their lives. A quiet, brooding man with a dark past, Jose works as a chef in his brother Manny's (Manny Perez) restaurant where he mostly keeps to himself until young waitress Nina is fired. Touched by Manny's unfair treatment of Nina, Jose impulsively leaves work to follow Nina and spends a day with her where he discovers that she is pregnant and alone. The two become incredibly close in the space of a day, sharing their pasts, feelings, and fears, and a lasting friendship is born. As Nina struggles with her pregnancy options and Jose comes to terms with a horrific incident from his past, the pair's newfound friendship aids in growth and healing. In the end, Jose and Nina's lives become permanently intertwined in a most beautiful and unexpected way. Bella is a moving, introspective film that will inspire serious personal reflection. --Tami Horiuchi
