Customer Rating: Summary: What can I say?.... Comment: They're beautiful... like ceramics, or something.. ;-)
I love these guys.... I think I love them more live... but I love having them in my car... great way to get me smiling when I'm having a bad day/week/month/life ü
Buy it before the Humans Are Dead... binary solo - 0000001 00000011 000000111.....
Customer Rating: Summary: very good, not great though Comment: This album kind of grew on me. The songs are of course, for the most part, exactly like what was on the show. That's fine, it's more of the songs they decided to leave off that keep this from getting a 5 star review. I found that two of my favorites, "Bret you got it goin' on" and "If you're into it" were left off. Overall, if you're a fan, you'll get your money's worth.
Customer Rating: Summary: I'd love to give this a 5, but... Comment: Sadly, it's a little like pinning a butterfly to a card - you can get some idea of the original beauty, but with the life force gone it's just mildly interesting. I suspect they need audience interaction in order to pull out all the stops; combine that with not being able to watch their superb physical timing, and it's just... a bit disappointing.
Customer Rating: Summary: Hilarious yet missing something Comment: As many of you Flight of the Conchords fans know, these guys really know how to make people laugh through their HBO television show and their random songs that appear in their show. Unfortunately this is a CD and you can only hear them. That being said this is a funny and good album that was put out by these guys. Unfortunately, they left out some of the ones that I would have never thought that they would omit. There are 4 songs that were not on this CD that I was really excited for but they were not there. These included: If You're Into It, Albi the Racist Dragon, Bret You Got It Goin On, Sello Tape, and Jenny. These are 5 songs that I really enjoyed listening to when I get the chance but I don't get to enjoy them because they are not on the CD. I have also found that even though this is only a CD and it is funnier when you see them singing their song on the episodes with their facial expressions, I often can imagine that while I listen to them. It created a funny image and makes the songs better. Unfortunately if you can't do this when you just listen to music this will not help you.
Overall I would rate this CD as good, but still missing some pieces. If they had put in the 5 songs that I listed earlier, it would have made for a much better CD.
Customer Rating: Summary: Soundtrack of Summer 08 Comment: While Summer 07 was all about Rhianna (I still can't get 'ella 'ella out of my head...but I don't mind that), Summer 08 is all about The Conchords. For fans of the HBO series and YouTube clips, this collection is just what you (and I) need as a precusor to season 2. For those uninitiated, the songs are great satires of the R&B, disco, pop, and world music genres. However, the songs are more than just funny, silly songs. Listen to "Ladies of the Worlds," and you'll hear the soft, political stylings of a anti-war ballad. Listen to "Inner City Pressure" and "Think About It," and you'll see a glimpse into the futility of life in the city. And "Business Time" is the best pre-making love song since Sade graced the airwaves in the 80s.
One quip: where is "Frodo, Don't Wear The Ring"?
Will everyone like "Flight of the Conchords"? Well, the right people will understand and appreciate the music. And isn't that more important than mass-market, big box store acceptence? It's already a hit in the digital download world. Plus, their concert in Denver is already sold out for May 08.
Brett and Jermaine are superb singer-songwriters, to boot.
More Conchords, please.

This acclaimed Kiwi novelty band follow the release of their six-track Grammy Award-winning CD EP "The Distant Future" with their full-length debut. Features fully fleshed-out and professionally recorded versions of the duo's concerts and TV favorites. Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement's trademark acoustic guitars lead the blitz, backed by a diverse array of instrumentation and production technique. If amazing, delightful, and hilarious is your idea of funny, then prepare for undisappointment. These fifteen songs pay homage to Pet Shop Boys, censorship, Marvin Gaye, sexism, Shabba Ranks, and backhanded compliments.
