Summary: not a fan before ....am now after watching ....and listening!
Comment: I somehow managed to avoid the whole JEWEL craze when she was the "it" girl a bit back...and took a gamble on this DVD set. Sound Stage puts on great shows and can be counted on for excellent programming as well as stunning sound and first rate visuals. I watched these never knowingly having heard her before...and was blown away. Jewel has a great voice and is a very accomplished acoustic guitarist. Truly I favor the few artists who are good enough to hold an audience without the need for a powerhouse band and she absolutely fits that bill. This DVD is a showcase for her and has made me a fan. I can't imagine a person who is already a fan not enjoying this double set to the hilt!

Summary: Love this DVD!
Comment: I have been a jewel fan from the beginning but still haven't been able to make any of her live shows. After watching this DVD, it makes me even more motivated to see her live. I love the acoustic performance and I think this is where Jewel really shines. It beats listening to her CDs hands down. She has such a great singing voice, she doesn't need all the background noise. Just her singing playing her guitar is what separates her from so many artists. Both DVD's were good but I enjoyed the Rialto Theater performance more, and when she sang Violet Eyes, it brought me to tears. That is the first time I have ever heard that song. I'm glad I bought this DVD and it will be one I plan to listen to regularly.

Summary: Amazing Performer but Bag The Orchestra
Comment: I am a advid Jewel fan who orginally watched and DVR'd Disc 2 (Live at the Rialto Thearter) from PBS sometime ago (I still bought this double disc set). The video reproduction and more importantly the surround sound reproduction is fantastic on these DVD's. Koch Vision, very well done indeed! The performances are amazing but the Orchestra on the Rialto Concert should have stayed home. To many great performers do this and it rarely works. This performance is no exception. Of all performers, Jewel does not to rely on this trickery. Her acoustic performances on both of these discs are incredible. This is were she excels. In the middle of DVD 1 (Dallas, Texas) she is joined with her band. Very good but she does oversing in some parts. The aformentioned Rialto Concert acoustic performance is exceptional. I've seen her acoustically many times and this DVD is as good as being there especially if you plan on watching this in surround. This would have been a 5 star rating if she just bagged the Orchestra!

Summary: Still an "Uncommon" performer
Comment: Jewel probably has one of the top three female singing voices I've heard. She certainly has the most versatile voice I've ever listened to. Her live version of "Life Uncommon," released as a CD single, is one of most uplifting songs I own. I've seen her in concert several times. One was an acoustic show in a university ampitheater. That was five years ago, after her third album, "This Way," was released. I remember seeing more than a few jaws drop during that show. She was hitting unbelievable notes with seeming ease. She also was able to generate remarkable audience buzz for someone doing a solo unplugged show. During the last four or so years, her performances have become uneven, though her talent level clearly has not dropped. Instead, for whatever set of reasons, she doesn't seem as consistently psyched throughout a show as she was earlier in her career. Her performance enthusiasm level seems to rise and lower, and, when it lowers, she appears to lose some of the emotion she needs to draw on to make her great voice sound truly special. She displays this unevenness in this two-DVD performance set. However, when she's great in this set (and these moments seem to be at times of her own choosing), her singing remains truly a gift to enjoy.

I enjoy listen to Jewel sing. I have all her live concerts DVDs.. she release in the pass years.

I am so excited about this new two concert DVD. Its been way over due and now she findly releaseing a womderful dvd that I will add to my collection of the other two I have of her.

What I like about her she is silly when she sings in her concerts. She beautiful and has a voice I could listen forever.

I hope she continues in release more of her concert dvds . I'll be the one of the first customer to buy it.

I SO excite in getting this .. I hope its has alot of extras of her on this dvd collection. :)

Jewel keep up the good work. Please release more...
