Customer Rating: Summary: hank 3rd Comment: classic hank 3rd ps re instate hank sr on myspace hank the 3rd is the real deal down the earth artist song writer that push's the envelope
where were to afraid to travel inhis shoes
Customer Rating: Summary: Damn this is good stuff!!!! Comment: All the other 5 star reviews hit the nail on the head..Great follow up to S.T.H.!!..Plus, its great to hear well respected chicken-picker Johnny Hiland back again, shreddin' away with more impressive licks than ever!!....One thing i do gotta say though is i cannot understand why people write reviews of Hank III's cd's and say stuff like "I'm tired of hearin' all these songs about being wild, and drinking beer and wine, and being a rebel" blah blah blah..Give me a break!!! THAT IS COUNTRY!!! That's exactly what all the greats sung about...If you're offended by topics like that my friends, you're barkin' up the wrong tree for sure!!...Hank Sr was without a doubt known for his wild lifestyle...Merle has WHOLE ALBUMS dedicated to drinking songs and gettin' into trouble...and George Jones (or should i say "no show Jones") was ONE HELL OF A HONKY TONKER in his early days....'Nuff said...now stop reading these reviews and just buy the damn thing!!
Customer Rating: Summary: Who is this guy trying to convince? Comment: Us or himself. I can't stand any more of this "I like to have a damn good time, and I drink, and I cuss, blah, blah, blah", song after song. The lyrics are hideous. He sounds like an insecure high school kid trying to find an image. Seriously, I'm embarrassed listening to this album. Straight to hell wasn't much better. Lovesick and Rising Outlaw were good. And this devil stuff has got to go. It's stooopid. I'm officially over this guy.
Customer Rating: Summary: More Of The Same From Hank III Comment: Hank III's new CD is full of the stuff his fans love. He trashes the Country Music establishment, glorifies drinkin', calls the Devil his friend--and makes it all sound great with his tight country punk band. I thought his last CD, 2006's "Straight To Hell", was full of classic songs. Unfortunately, "Damn Right" doesn't quite measure up to "Straight To Hell"--for example, sometimes it seems like he is trying too hard to make the words fit the music. But it does have some great songs on it, and is certainly better than 2002's "Lovesick, Broke, and Driftin'". "Damn Right" doesn't break any new ground, but if you are already a fan, it won't disappoint.
Customer Rating: Summary: Worth the wait Comment: Although I don't like it as much as STH, this is still a solid CD. The more I listen to it, the more it grows on me. I definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for some real country music.
