Customer Rating: Summary: A Treat For Early Andre Rieu Fans Comment: "On a Blue Evening" is a very fun listen if you are interested in early Andre Rieu recordings. One of the ways that Rieu started his career was playing traditional "Herringbiete" concerts in Maastricht, NL just after Carnivale. It's fascinating to hear the early versions of the songs that Rieu now routinely plays in his concerts. The CD has a festive feel, and the crowd sings along to every song. It's impossible not to feel the joy and exhuberance of this concert.
Customer Rating: Summary: EARLY RIEU - BUT STILL GREAT Comment: This CD was before Andre Rieu became a big star. It is before the Johann Strauss Orchestra. In 1992, with only about five musicians, he still exhibits his excellent sense of showmanship and creative arrangements. It is well worth listening to and it is an enjoyable collection of his future "greatest" hits. Every Rieu fan should have this one in their collection.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not a Blue Evening with Andre Comment: A Blue Evening with Andre Rieu was certainly not the case after listening to this CD. The music for which Andre is renowned was as enjoyable as ever and the audience participation made the evening almost as good as being there.

André Rieu, known to many as the waltz king of Europe, is one of the most celebrated solo violinists/composers alive today. His catalog has sold over 500K units in the US alone (and millions overseas) and he holds the distinction of being the #1 PBS Pledge Drive artist. André tours the US every year, often in support of high-profile PBS recordings, and continues to record and release new material.
