Summary: Interesting printer, but chews ink
Comment: I was able to hook this computer up to a network in only a few minutes, and had it working from mac and PC in under 30 minutes. That's the good part. The bad part is that it's gone through the "test" cartridges supplied with the printer in the first hour of operation, and halfway through the high volume (99) cartridges in the next week of using the printer, and I don't use it a lot. It appears to be cleaning the heads every time I print which totally sucks. I've not had this much problem with a printer in a very long time, and I'm considering swapping to pretty much anything else as I can't see going through 100$ of ink per month.

Summary: Everything Works as Expected
Comment: I was a bit nervous with all wireless printers. It seemed like no matter how much I searched the reviews were always mixed. Some people had terrible installation problems and other significant issues with every one. I finally bought the Epson Artisan 800. After installing the ink and before any setup, I printed a 4x6 from a SD card and was instantly impressed. Could not ask for a better print. Since then I have printed about 30 more perfect 4x6 prints.

Setup was a breeze. I had never set up a wireless printer and was a bit nervous. I watched the video online and carefully followed the easy to understand manual. It successfully found my Vista PC and XP notebook and has worked flawlessly with each.

I printed a CD from the printer and as others have said, it looks "factory made." My wife often uses the copier with the Auto Document Feed and it is nice to make copies without using the PC.

True, it does not scan directly from the printer to either computer. You need to use the software from either computer for that but it is simply no big deal to us. The HP8180 works the same way from what I have read.

Cnet review greatly criticized the printer for jamming paper. We have never had any jams. We have used the document feeder for scanning and mixed up usage with both 4x6 photo and regular printer paper.

No buyer regret at all! Recommended it to family members.

Summary: Good not Great
Comment: I bought the Artisan 800 a month ago. It looks great, has all the bells and whistles you could want, and prints excellent quality photos. However, one issue a buyer should consider is the path the paper takes in the printing process. The two trays being hidden in the printer's innards is nifty but at a cost in performance. There's no external loader for quick paper changes. Even more annoying is that heavy photo paper can't make it through to the print heads. It jams! Almost half of my photo paper stock can't be used in the machine. This was learned the hard way - clearing jams. I've also experienced a problem with plain paper double feeds, using quality paper.

Summary: GREAT AIO PRINTER
Comment: I have always been a HP user and was looking for a new HP when I came upon this Epson. I purchased it based on some favorable reviews and the fact I was looking for a low profile AIO unit. So far this unit has performed without error and makes great color prints in quick time. It is streamlined, good looking and the touch panel is easy to follow. The only thing I would like to see improved is the feed tray. It does seem a little delicate and I wish it would hold more paper but those are minor points and so it gets my five stars based on performance to date. Of course if anythings changes then a follow-up review will take place.

Summary: Artisan 800
Comment: Pro: This is a terrific machine. Great print quality and some really neat features found on no other printer I've seen.

Con: Relatively low volume ink cartridges.
