Customer Rating: Summary: Don't waste your money! Comment: In my opinion, this is one of the worst Adam Sandler movies to date. Very few funny lines and most of the storyline was way too far fetched. I thought this would be a good one, he has done many that I am very fond of. I was very disappointed!
Customer Rating: Summary: Will create a good laugh/Great comedy! Comment: If you want a good laugh then you got to watch this movie. At first I didn't have high expectations for the movie just because of what I read in the back (I guess I was biased), but boy did I change my mind! I only rated it four stars instead of five because of the major crude humor and how it isn't a movie that I would recommend to anyone under 13 (although I believe most kids under that age went to see the movie).
My favorite part of the movie was where Adam Sandler character (Zohan) does the funny clapping pushups (that really cracked me up) to impress the pretty Palestinian girl in order to get the job at the hair salon. It would be nice if people can jobs today solely on the basis of doing pushups! But anyone the Zohan finally impresses her enough that she offers him the job to style hair.
The major theme of the movie is that the Zohan is trying to get away from his "fighting terrorism" roots back at his home in Isreal. He fakes his own death after a scene in the water with John Tuturo's character and makes him believes he actually killed the Zohan. We of course know this isn't true. Both major characters of the movie come into a head on confrontation later in the movie. I don't want to spoil the climax by saying what happens, but I just want to say that friendships can turn out even in the worst of arguments and fights.
And finally Emmanuel Chiriqu's character (the Palenstian hair dresser) does a terrific job acting and being the Zohan's significant other. Great acting all around and a great movie. I still don't recommend children under 13 to watch this.
Customer Rating: Summary: Fighting Racism with humor Comment: If you were ever a fan of blazing saddles like I am, then you'd see the value in this movie a lot clearer. Blazing saddles used humor to tackle a situation of racism in america that was a major issue that everyone just tiptoed around because everyone was so scared of offending others, but Blazing saddles took racism and punched it in the nose with humor. You don't mess with the Zohan is an exceptional film with slapstick humor all throughout delivered in the same manner that Blazing Saddles delivered. It managed to take the middle east conflict and all the racism and hatred that is there hit it square in the nose, sure there was plenty of stuff some might deem as "Offensive" but I was never a fan of political correctness, it censors us and brings us to a point where free speech is taken away. I salute you Adam Sandler, you made a funny movie, and you managed to tackle a much bigger issue in the process. This movie was art, if people can't appreciate it, then they need to open up their minds some.
Customer Rating: Summary: Zionist garbage Comment: Creepy, Judeocentric farce that manages to stereotype Arabs and humorize violence against whites while completely glossing over the Jews' ethnic cleansing of Palestine. Nice.
Customer Rating: Summary: 2 1/2. This apple doesn't fall far from the Sandler tree Comment: "You Don't Mess with the Zohan", directed by Dennis Dugan and written by Adam Sandler.
Present day Israel; Zohan Dvir (Adam Sandler) is Israel's top operative. He takes on missions single handedly that would usually take a whole team of men. After discovering that his latest mission involves attempting to capture his arch nemesis The Phantom (John Turturro) who Zohan had previously captured but was traded back for captured Israeli soldiers, he begins to recognize the futility of all the fighting and becomes disenchanted with his job. Zohan then fakes his death so he can travel incognito to New York and pursue his true passion of styling hair...
"You don't Mess with the Zohan" is another apple that didn't fall far from the Sandler tree. Like many of his movies, it isn't terrible but doesn't reach greatness either.
The Good: There is a laugh here and there. The acting overall for the type of movie we are dealing with wasn't bad.
The Bad: A lot of the jokes fall flat and don't work.
Overall: There just isn't a lot to expand upon about this movie. It won't go down in history as Sandler's best or worst movie or as a bottom or top feeder of the comedy genre in general. If you like Sandler's movies you may find a chuckle here and there. If you haven't liked Sandler's movies don't expect anything different from this one.

Comedy superstar Adam Sandler is back - and funnier than ever - as The Zohan, the finest counter terrorist agent the Israeli army has. That is, until he fakes his death and travels to Manhattan to live his dream...as a hairdresser. Now this skilled fighting machine who used to clip bad guys is out to prove he can make the cut as a top stylist. All goes silky smooth until his cover is blown when he's recognized by a Palestinian cab driver (Rob Schneider). Now, The Zohan must fight to live a peaceful new life in New York in this razor-sharp action-packed comedy from Adam Sandler, Robert Smigel, Judd Apatow and Dennis Dugan.
