Summary: Works - but with some problems.
Comment: I've been using True Image Home 2009 for about a month. I've had a couple of problems and Acronis Tech Support has been abysmal. I've had trouble backing up to DVD's (the software stops recognizing my DVD player after a couple of DVD's have been written to.) Also, the software writes to one of my USB drives as if it's a DVD - dividing up the backup into about 30, 4 gb files. I've tried contacting tech support but have had no luck so far. I have received messages that they are too busy and can't respond to my inquiries - "sorry for the inconvenience." The software seems to do what it says but I have trouble recommending it because of the poor customer service.

I've been looking for a drive imaging program for protection in case my HD fails at some point. I'd tried ShadowProtect, but it wouldn't run, and the publisher's tech service people were unable to find the cause. So now I've done a complete image backup with True Image 2009 to an external hard drive, and I've restored individual files from the backup without any problems. I'll also mention that this program was very easy to use, and the user manual is clear.

After downloading the product and paying for it, I used it to backup my hard drive. Then I received an email stating that the serial number I was given was incorrect (15 day trial version) and I could obtain a correct serial number by following directions in the email. Went through the whole shebang, obtained a substitute license, and was informed that I would have to download a utility which would substitute the correct license for the previous incorrect one. DID NOT WORK. A form appeared which required me to fill in the new license and fill in the old license. This became a round robin; the same forms were presented over and over again. If there is a support operation, I was unable to reach it. I am still informed that I have 15 days before the software is operational.
