Welcome to the forum, Isaac.

Islam is not a violent religion. There are those who have corrupted Islam and committed horrible acts in its name, and many in the West have come to see that as the face of Islam. But it is not the religion itself that is violent, it is these followers. It is ironic that those who commit horrible acts claim to do it in the name of Islam, yet it is they who shame their religion.

Put me down as agree that it isn't a relgion of hate. Most religions get turned upside down by wrong thinking zealots at one time or another. It is what believers must always be vigilant to prevent.

But then, majority of the believer practice hatred towards Jews since the birth of Islam right?

Perversion of the religion. Christians have done the same at times throughout history.

I believe Muhammad refered to them as children of the book and saw no reason for conflict between them and Jews and Christains. I am not an expert, but that is what I was taught long ago.

If you take any belief, whether it be religious or political, to the extreme, things tend to get seriously distorted.

The persecution of Jews predates Islam.
I would love to give a solid reason for this, but any I can think of pander to the stereotypical views of Jews.

Actually, I believe there is a history of Jews and Arabs coexisting for much of their history. The roots of the modern conflict are in the late 19th century when Jewish farmers began buying Palestinian land. After WWI, the British rules Palestine under a Mandate from the League of Nations. There was tension, but nothing like today. But during this period, things started to really get ugly as both groups strived towards statehood.

The religion doesn't preach hate or violence, but it has a militant history. Early Muslims spread their faith through war. Christians did this as well. It is important for people to realize that this violence doesn't have anything to do with the religions, just misinformed or manipulative individuals.
