Afghanistan is not an easy mark for Uncle Sam.
This is a tribal culture. You kill the children...you are as good as dead. They will now turn up the heat on our troops in their country.

Normally I avoid criticizing the military, but in this case I have to ask: what on earth were they thinking? This loss of innocent life is inexcusable.

why did they send a Warthog to do a sniper's job?
Let's see what will cause more collateral damage
Depeteled uranium cannon + hellfire missiles OR
Barret .50 sniper rifle.

It sure is easy to sit around second guessing and criticizing them at the safety and comfort we are free to enjoy.
It was a very unfortunate loss and I would be willing to bet weighs heavily upon those Soldiers who were involved.
Making a political issue of it will not help anyone except those who we are at war with.

KWJams: Anyone who knows anything about our airforce will tell you that a A-10 is not the plane to launch attacks aganist stationary houses. The A-10 is a tank hunter. Pure and simple. It does its job well, and while it may have some use attacking ships, it is not the plane to go after houses when you're selectively going after 1 person.....
Bad choice of weapons lead to unneccessary deaths.
Send in a single Kiowa or blackhawk, drop a sniper team off, or commando unit, and either pick him off when he comes out, or take him out after dark.
Quick, clean and no collateral damage.

I'm sure the soldiers involved feel terrible.
However, its not going to set well with the tribal elders who STILL control Afghanistan.
Many great armies have left their bones on the plains of Afghanistan.
We may be next. Good intentions or not. Its almost like Afghanistan has a protective shield around them. Nobody has ever had an easy time there.

I can accept civilian casualties through mishap and bad judgment in a time of war, it is quite sad an unfortunate, but never by means of pure intent.

You seem to be a veritable cornicopia of immaculate military strategery, why don't you go to Iraq and plan our attacks??? I am sure all your plans will be executed perfectly everytime.
