More than 11,000 Marines and sailors marched through downtown Saturday as thousands of people welcomed home the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force based at Camp Pendleton.
Cheering parade watchers were stacked 12 deep in places for a mile along Coast Highway, many of them holding flags or signs that said "Thank You." Red, white and blue confetti filled the air.

After all the media attention yesterday about the anti-administration rallies that were held, I was surprised to stumble across this story.

Funny though it was not news worthy enough to make front page on the website.

I wish to extend my personal gratitude to our returning Troops for a job well done.

I sincerely hope this country has learned its lessons and can separate their feelings for the policies of a government from the service men and women who are putting their lives on the line for freedom. I may personally have issues with some our government's policy's, but I have nothing but respect, admiration and envy for the members of our armed forces.
