View Full Version : Divine Intervention?

I've got a question here that's primarily for the Christians on this board. I have a couple of friends who went out one evening around Christmas time. Let's call them "Friend A" and "Friend B" for short. Friend B was relating the event to me afterwards, and he told me that he and Friend A went out to a night club for a bit. Apparently, Friend A had wanted to hook up the both of them with girls so that they could get laid, but Friend B told me that he wasn't interested in doing this, and had done everything possible to avoid possibly evoking that sort of response from the opposite sex while at the club. Further, Friend B explained that much to Friend A's surprise, he couldn't get a single girl to even dance with him, much less a pair of girls to go home with, which is something that had never happened to Friend A before.
So, I want to know if you think there was divine intervention on Friend B's behalf, and if so, I want to know what reasons you have to support this assertion and why you believe it is true.

 it could have been, conversely; it could have simplly been that friend B projected his uninterested-ness to all the females in the room. women are almost unfairly perceptive.

That's true, but Friend B gave reason for me to believe that even as he waited along the sidelines while Friend A tried to at least get a dance, women were consistently rejecting Friend A.

No, I got the point. You want some holy roller to come on here and and say yes. Then you want to argue with him about the existence of God and the impossibilities of Divine intervention. Then he will argue back, then 10 minutes later a new thread will be started the starts and ends the same. Believe me I got the point.
He had a bad night didn't get laid. Divine intervention or not who really cares I mean what is the point in even starting this thread? Do you think God cares about your Friend B getting laid? Now if you would have told me that the girl that Friend A was trying to hook up with him her car exploded that night because of a fuel injection problem and he was supposed to ride with her. I would then pounder the question of Divine Intervention. Yet my end result would probably be "who really cares."

Or did you? You anticipated an action on my part that I had no plan of acting upon. Besides, what you've stated here is, on a fundamental level, the case for everything in an internet political forum. Why don't you just stop posting if you're that jaded?

Ah, but herein is the thing- what Friend A was proposing is sinful, according to the Christian perspective, whereas what Friend B wanted to do was not sinful. So yes, from a Christian perspective, God really does care about whether Friend B does or does not get laid. In either case, I wanted to bring it up on the forum and see what other people's opinions are.

That sounds like your answer right there. Unless I am missing the question?

Well Craig I would have to say NO, but that is because I don't believe in Divine intervention as you propose it. In this scenario God is an external force playing upon the universe and within the establishment at the night club. Now what I see as intervention of God here at the Club would only be in Friend B's actions and choices, For him he was being God driven not to partake in certain activities and thus God was intervening on his behave to make it so, but I will indeed concede also from an outside perspective it would just be seen as Friend B's disinterest in girls and Girls are rarely interested in men who are not interested in them.

Well, to be clear, I know Friend B pretty well, and he's not disinterested in girls, but rather disinterested in randomly picking up some girl and then having sex with her.

Sounds like these "friends" have no respect for females and need to learn about the dangers of casual sex. Must be products of our modern sex education in our enlightened era.

That is the case with Friend A, but not the case with Friend B. I'm sure Friend A carries protection.

While I can believe that I would think there has to be more to his attitude then that for him to be so ignored as he was. I for one don't go out and randomly pick up some women just to then have sex with her, but I never have any problem getting girls to dance with me either hell I dance with two at once I don't care.
Does he have a problem with rejection maybe? You know you got to ask a dozen or so to get a yes. not every guy is every girls personal prefernce and the same goes of the guys not every girl is every guys personal perference.
Is he looking to get married with the first girl he is dancing with or Can he just dance to dance and have a good time?
so you are saying that God momentarally posessed the girl's minds and made them say no? How does that work exactly? Did he tamper with their eyes and give the guy a booger on his nose?. How exactly does divine intervention work??

I used to be the 13th apostle, then I slept with his girlfriend and he kicked me out. Now i'm doomed to wander the earth for eternity.
