In view of the breaking news regarding former doctor, Harold Shipman, is it possible that he's the World's most prolific serial killer? He's definately Britains. At the height of his killing, it's reckoned he was killing three people per day!!!

He's estimated to have murdered 250-260 patients under his 'care' and 218 have been varified.

Harold Shipman killed up to 15 patients at Pontefract General Infirmary while working as a junior doctor, the Shipman Inquiry has revealed.

Why was this not detected??? I can't imagine that many deaths without someone somewhere getting suspicious. Though I would I fear if we scratch the surface it will show that there were suspicions but only among the powerless nurses.

It was the nurses who had suspicions, but the majority of killings were during unscheduled home visits to elderly female patients. It's completely changed the method by which deaths are reported in the UK.

He needs to be tortured to death.

He needs to be tortured to death. He hung himself in his prison cell last January.
Today's report is the result of the sixth investigation into different eras of his career and the fate of all the patients who died whilst in his 'care'. What is so shocking about this report is that one of his victims was a four year old girl. :(

Saddam still gets my vote. The mass graves that held 300,000 plus souls alone beats anything out there.

I guess I should also mention Hitler and Stalan. But Saddam is in my time.

The definition of serial killer is by their own hand.
In a way you're right but they did it by their own thoughts and signatures, and it was state sanctioned.

Wow Bush = Hitler and Stalin! Are you Ted Turner in disguise?

My contempt of Stalin and Hitler is rivaled by my contempt of Bush. Bush is even more deserving because he is homegrown.

He affects the here and now.

Yes but you did not answer the more important question...Are you Ted Turner? If the answer is yes, I know exactly how old you are!

I am not Ted Turner.

Wouldn't have the job. Never cared for the man either.

Some say that our local contender for the title, Herman Mudgett, may have killed 200 a century ago, but that is probably an exaggeration. http://www.prairieghosts.com/holmes.html

Pretty incomparable,Shipman killed his victims face to face-Hitler and Stalin simply signed there names to the death warrants. Surely Pol Pot and Mengistu were in your time? They were a million times worse than Saddam...

Bush is working his way up the scale. Look out Stalin!

 Do you know how ignorant that is?

Actually, the definition of serial killing is killing that occurs in a series, like one death after another.

I would call the gassing of the Kurds a mass murder, not serial murder, since it was one act of murder that resulted in many victims--equally as evil.

Wow, the London hammer killings, now that is brutal.
