I would be fascinated if anyone here feels the have had a genuine supernatural experience, primarilly religous but anything really. I havent had one myself :sorry: but would like to hear stories from those that feel they have.

I'll hold my hand up to that one and get called a freak in the process. :o Even my closest lifelong friend has called me a 'witch' on occassion.

As you well know Ukangel, I'm no believer in organised religion, but I do believe in spirituality. The two things are entirely different to me, and that's the main reason why I will never say I'm an atheist. I'm firmly in the agnostic box. ;)

I've lived in a very haunted house where we experienced nightly disturbances, and I mean every night like clockwork! These we even witnessed by over 40 people who attended my house mate's 21st birthday party, and it was quite embarassing having to explain that the noises were being caused by 'the ghosts' and not irate neighbours.

My late father has made his presence felt on a few occassions, again, with many independent witnesses.
I was 'healed' of a minor complaint by a Franciscan priest a couple of days before my wedding, which he conducted. That incident shocked me. It was quite a dramatic change from having a serious eye infection that was blurring my vision, to being completely clear of the infection within 20mins.

But the biggie is that I've had premonitions. :o They seem to come in waves at various points of my life and I had a clutch of them last year. They usually happen when I've just fallen asleep and are in the form of roller coaster dreams. That's full sound and very vivid technicolour dreams that feel like they last for hours, but I always wake up very shaken and disturbed within 45mins of falling asleep. I have a loose arrangement with my closest friend now that I email them to her before I fall asleep again with as much detail as I can remember, but since we agreed this, I haven't had any. :D Previously, I tell her face to face or over the phone, and the last two have been astoundingly true.
One I had last year was that I was on the landing of a close friend's home (a friend who is also a member of this forum). It was dark and I saw him jump out of bed then run down stairs screaming and lashing out into the darkness.
I put it down to being a bad dream and told my female friend about it that night before I went to work.
The following morning, the friend I had dreamt about told me his house had been broken into the previous night and he'd run down stairs screaming to scare the intruder away.

The last dream I had is still as vivid as when I had it on tuesday, 14th December. It really freaked me out and I told my friend about it on the following day. The dream as I saw it was... I was watching TV footage of a very sandy place. I could see the date and time was in the top right hand corner of the screen as if it were video footage with the timer visible. I don't remember what the timer said, but remember asking myself repeatedly why it didn't say that it was Christmas? (My friend took this as meaning that the events were in a non-Christian country.) Suddenly, hundreds of people were running away from the sand and towards the camera in a state of absolute panic. I couldn't see what they were running away from, but I could feel their terror.
When I talked it over with my friend, we kind of decided that it would be a huge terror attack in a non-Christian country over Christmas...but I saw that video footage again for real on December 27th after the tsunami. :(

Now you know what kind of freak I am :o

p.s. My dad recognised that I had weird dreams when I was a kid and used them to his advantage :D I once dreamt that a snail would win the Grand National, so my dad backed L'Escargot when all the clever money was on Red Rum.

I get severe deja vu myself. Although it tends to be during the most mundane things. Conversations with people I've never met that I suddenly rememeber exactly what they're going to say, like I've heard it before.

Also, once, I was laying on a couch at my dad's house, bored. I don't remember why, but I started focusing on energy. Active imagination I guess, but I wanted a little ball of energy in my hand. Not that anything so impressive happened, but when I decided it had been enough, I threw 'it' at the TV. The TV blinked, flashed off and back on once. Of course, I've never been able to duplicate it, so I'm sure it was just a bizarre coincidence, but it freaked my dad out a little bit.

Ok.. i have never believed in the supernatural (not HAVE), i have never experienced anything spectacular, but i've heard stories.

The only thing that has made me wonder was several years ago when my grandad died. He died because the main artery from the heart bursted at about 03:00, in the hospital. Now i had been experiencing frightening chestpains for weeks, i was even taken to the hospital by my mother to have me checked out. They could not find anything wrong with me and the doctors thought it was because i had troubles with my dad's new girlfriend (she was unfriendly, didn't like "the old kids etc") and wanted me to speak with a shrink. I declined.

But anyway, i remember the same night grandad died, i woke up in my bed with the worst pain ever. I remember i looked at the clock. I cannot remember if i had any more chestpains after that. It is spooky and i have never told it to anyone (except here now, since i'm quite anonymous).

I personally believe that much of what is percieved as paranormal or "otherwordly" is probablly just small moments in time where our minds are working in a higher capacity than usual. Sort of like an epileptic momemt where the mind momentarily uses a long dormant part of the brain. I truly believe the premeonitions and dejavue we experience is just that. The ability to look into another dimension sensing people who have passed may also be a buried talent we all possess, but do not know how to use. Perhaps what we percieve as paranormal is just really normal? Our not utilyzing the the full potential of our brains may be the abnormal thing.

In some cases, I believe some people are much more in tune with these abilities. I have a hard time believing that what we see and experience in everyday life is all that there is.

Once saw something fly past us out of the corner of my eye while on a hike when I was a scout. Others saw it too. Just kind of a whitish blur that went past really really quickly.

Once saw a UFO. Bone shaped, lights on each end, slowly went from one end of the sky (out in suburbia, so you could see a lot of sky) to the other, than zoomed back across in the direction it came almost instantaneously.

Other than that, zero.

I ripped the veil that divides our world from others years ago.

My experiences cannot be couched in mere words.

One time I was hit pretty hard by a truck when I was crossing the street in 8th grade. I actually rolled over it, but came out of the hospital with nothing but a few really teensy bruises. I'd have to say that it was either:
A)Supernatural, or
B)Further proof of my ninja skills.

I am personally rooting for B.

I took over the world with a super doomsday machine but some supernatural force messed with time and now I'm trapped in the body of a hamster for punishment.

Now, the serious part.

As a kid<age 7 I think>, I once lost my library book. Know it's not a big deal now, but back then it was the end of the world. Prayed really hard, and then went to the school librarian to tell the truth. Librarian looked at me as if I was crazy and told me that I<as in me, not anyone else> had already returned it a day ago. Other librarians confirmed it. I know I didn't because

a. I have absolutely no memory of it.
b. I can't possibly be there to give the book back because I was at sea world for quite a time, I believe.

Creeped me out, but in a good way.

Oh ya, sorry. I guess I should have told you that I returned it. All's well that ends well eh?

i had visions of 3 of my past lives one evening. it explained quite a lot about personal feelings, beliefs, and unusual natural abilities.

life exists outside of the physical body. this is proven by the occurance of Near Death Experiences during which a person was soundly dead, but gained new experiences with verifiably correct new information upon their return to life.

this also validates reincarnation, and toddlers and babies have often produced stunningly complete and accurate information from past lives, spoken different languages fluently, and possessed skills that they were never taught in this life.

it's effing bizzare, but proof makes it scientifically true and certain.

I think I did once, or I might be completely crazy. The part that confuses me is that usually seeing religious figures has a purpose, but I don't know what the purpose of this one was if it wasn't just my imagination.

He's got your soul, Major. You've got to go on a mighty quest to get it back. I would suggest you get some acorns to swap with him.

Riddley, I have a feeling that standard acorns are beneath this squirrel. I can just hear 'em now: "If it ain't got at least 5 grams of saturated fat, yellow #5, and/or MSG, it ain't ****"

Boldnold, my initial feelings were love, but after seeing his face close up, he's quite homely--those buck teeth and beady lil' eyes of his.....

Nah, you left it in that time rift opened by that unicorn, you know, the one with the gills. I was just walking home tommorrow, and Bam! there it was. I just sent the leprachaun to return it. I gave him a piroshky in return.
