Here is one of those events where the scum have lost their long battle to tear down the 43 foot concrete Mt. Soledad Cross.
http://www.thomasmore.org/news.html?NewsID=341
ANN ARBOR, MI. -- Despite fifteen years of adverse court rulings, city council decisions to remove the cross, a local war memorial associations agreement to settle the case by removing the cross, and last week’s surprise decision by a state judge requiring a two-thirds vote of the people before the city would be forced to donate the cross and memorial to the federal government as a national war memorial, the citizens of San Diego spoke loud and clear- - keep the cross where it is as it is. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, unofficial results show that over 75 percent of the voters voted to keep the cross and war memorial in yesterdays voting.
The 43 foot concrete Mt. Soledad Cross has been the center of a war memorial on city land since 1954. However, in 1989, an atheist filed a federal lawsuit challenging its constitutionality because it was located on public property.
The Thomas More Law Center, a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, played an instrumental role in saving the cross. Its legal analysis was the basis for a federal law that declared the cross and memorial as a National War Memorial and authorized the federal government to receive a donation of the land on which the cross and memorial stood.
The citizens in San Diego took a stand against the scum who wanted to tear down part of their memorial and voted to prevent this cross from being torn down.

I am here, and you are there.
God can'r be dead if he is a sirit. But wwwwait, can a spirit be alive?

God is dead. I, as Lord of the Scumbags, have killed Him. Interestingly enough, God ends up with a physical body once dead - kind of looks like Fred Phelps, if you can imagine... a deader version, anyway.
So I'm afraid there is no God. He's dead and I buried him under my septic tank. I tried to find an outhouse, but you'd be surprised how many of those there aren't these days.

Apparently these scum do not beleave God is dead. They have for almost 15 years to tear it down, they have turned down every proposal that would give the
land the cross sits on to a non-government entity. So by that alone their grudge is not with seperation of church and state issue, their grudge is against God.
If you don't beleave in God so why waste your time over a symbol that you view as meaningless? If you view it as a seperation of church and state why not sell or give the land to a non-government entity.

Satin does beleave in God and Jesus. That is why just simply beleaving is not enough as some fake christians would lead others to beleave.

Nobody is asking for it to be taken down, just moved off state land, as required by the State's constitution. As the atheist said:
"Jihad Jesus Republicans need to understand that the separation of church and state has kept this country from getting into religious wars," Paulson said. " ... If God was powerful, there would not be a need for the government to go in and force a religious agenda on nonbelieving citizens."

I know not all athiest feel as though as though a cross on a veterans war memorial is the samething as some bible thumper in their face trying to shove the bible down their thoat and sprinkling holy water on them saying demon be gone.I find it hard to beleave that the two thirds of voters in San Diego are all christians.California after is liberal to the core.

California is hardly liberal to the core - look at the fascist they voted in as governator.
One thing is for sure, that's a really ugly war memorial. Surely our veterans deserve something more tasteful than a brick beehive with a cross stuck on top.
Of course making any suggestions to Christians means they'll start making the persecution accusation. Evangelical Christians are thin skinned crybabies.

We (that is to say, my fellow Californians, since I voted for McClintock) voted to remove Grey Davis and elect Herr Gropenfuhrer so that we would have a balanced budget. We almost do, not quite, but we're coming a lot closer than before and much, much closer than the federal government is to balancing their budget.
Most liberals and most conservatives do want border control, as do we middle of the roaders. Too bad the feds aren't into following the will of the electorate.
BTW, Satin does too believe in God. Who does he think threw him out of Heaven?

Best. Line. Ever. With some editing, I think I have a new signature.
My signature on another board: "A cult is a religion that doesn't have good PR people."

Mistakes in spelling do occur accidently.Sometimes it is a matter of fat fingering the buttons on the keybourd and rushing off to another thread.

They know God is dead and don't want to give others false hope. It would be like telling someone whose mother has been dead for years that she's still alive!

If what you mean is how can an atheist believe God is dead... well, who said they were atheists?

"An atheist doesn't have to be someone who thinks he has a proof that there can't be a god. He only has to be someone who believes that the evidence on the God question is at a similar level to the evidence on the werewolf question."
-John McCarthy
Says it all really. Atheists can discuss hypothetical gods.
