I am associated with a teacher in a private Christian school locally who was required to attend a Christian educational conference in Dallas, Texas last week. One of the speakers (a prophet, I was told) taught that the reason for the awful floods and hurricanes in the south were directly related to the decisions Bush has made relating to Israel and their land. God was punishing this nation for these atrocities against the Jewish Nation. These are God's chosen people and anyone who makes decisions in opposition to them will suffer the consequences. She used scripture to point it out these facts.
They were told that Katrina was whirling around in the Gulf and once the decision was made regarding the Gaza Strip by the Bush administration, Katrina then headed directly toward the southern states. Many of you know I deplore Bush. This is not a support-for-Bush thread. Now it appears some of his own has turned against him for his religious-political decisions.
What are Christian school teachers learning these days to listen to such crazy statements? In turn, of course, children are picking up these messages one way or another, pointing another generation to mythology and lunacy. Where in the hell do these idiots come from? Why are such ignorant people allowed to come anywhere near children? Where does this craziness stop in this country? To think these people make a living holding seminars with such stupidity attached to them.

Well Mizer, we for once agree.I think it is irresponsible to be the perveyor of such a falsehood. I believe we need to support Israel and such but I do not believe this is judgement for what happened over there. If it were judgement then Katrina would have hit DC.
Now I do believe the ultimate cause for hurricanes was a result of the changes that sin brought to the earth from Adam and Eve. So I am still on the fanatical side I guess.

You got that right. The tenure of this entire adminsitration has been, "We're in charge, too bad for you, lalalalalalalalala..."
When reality comes crashing in on fantasy, they do not do well.

Don't teach in a private school, then. Teach in a public school.

Don't teach in a private school, then. Teach in a public school.I wouldn't call this teaching. I would call it brainwashing in the absence of education. Learning is the product of education.
What a bunch of idiots (the Christian educational conference attendees)! Obviously Saddam is off the hook for this one which makes the number one suspect Osama Bin Laden.
God was punishing this nation for these atrocities against the Jewish Nation? Perhaps no good deed does go unpunished.
