True love is patient. True love does not exact revenge.
Love even your enemies. If they are an enemy, they are deceived and deserve your pity, not your scorn.

Your God certainly keeps a record of wrong. Therefore He doesn't truly love you! Muhahahahahahah!

I agree -- if someone is your enemy they deserve your pity not your scorn -- you are not going to get anywhere in life with hating someone -- just feel sorry for them and move on with your life

Allow me to throw a wrench in before you get to the second verse. Because it just occured to me that I hear the true love argument a lot. From the abused wives I deal with ad naseum. "He loves me",,,, "you don't understand he really cares" "Don't mind my busted lip, don't take my husband to jail", "get off him you bastard" so on and so forth.... There is a point where this "love" becomes enablement, so where is that line drawn. At one point does your physical and emotional well being becomes more important then your "true love." for someone that can, will and has hurt you. When your dead, disabled, maimed,, hmmm anyone care to answer that one. for all you lovers in here.
especially to one that you would call your enemy. Why would you even call them your enemy if you truly love them. It is kind of a contradiction if you ask me. But then I might be a bitter cynic because I see so much "love" from day to day. :D

God created us and His judgement is just and loving.
True love is patient. True love does not exact revenge. Not according to the bible: Romans 12:19
Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord.

Your God didn't create us and His judgement is unjust and hateful. See I can talk in absolutes as well.

i am a man of action. lies do not become me.
i have time and room and endless patience for those with likewise but if you do not know God then you have a different lesson to learn.
let's begin with the existance of the soul. have you examined near death experiences? has God ever worked in your life? have you ever asked Him to?
Ok, I concede. God loves life, but I do not believe in a vengeful or jealous god as portrayed in the bible, that would just be too ridiculous. :flowers:

Well, what actions are you undertaking?
i have time and room and endless patience for those with likewise but if you do not know God then you have a different lesson to learn.
What are your referring to when you write "likewise"?
let's begin with the existance of the soul. have you examined near death experiences? has God ever worked in your life? have you ever asked Him to?
I have examined near death experiences, and things more esoteric besides. I have seen things that I thought didn't exist. As for your third question, it depends on how you define God. I will say that I feel that there is at least something to the idea of destiny, and you could define that which drives destiny as God. But I will also say that I am much happier (and much more a man of action) after abandoning the Christian faith. It is more rewarding to try to find your own answers. And for the fourth question: I am sure I did during my Christian day, who knows, perhaps my current situation is his response.

Once again with the NDE's. They are not death. They are NEAR death, and therefore can tell us nothing about any afterlife. All the phenomena associated with them can be rationally explained in terms of natural responses to anoxia. The individual's perception of these events is coloured by their pre-existing belief systems.
But I will also say that I am much happier (and much more a man of action) after abandoning the Christian faith.Me too although now I believe in something that might be related to God (undefined). No miracles, no human scarifies and no NDEs though (near death is the same as close to death but it is not death itself).

Yes, the problem with death is a definitional issue. If we define death as a state from which it is impossible to return to life, then it is impossible for anything living to undergo it and then return with results by definition. You could try an ouija board I guess... :p
