VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) -- It's Microsoft versus Mike Rowe-soft.

Rowe, a 17-year-old high school senior and Web designer from Victoria, has angered the software giant by registering an Internet site with the address www.MikeRoweSoft.com.

"Since my name is Mike Rowe, I thought it would be funny to add 'soft' to the end of it," said Rowe.

Microsoft, however, is not amused

I'll just quote myself from my previous post on the same subject in a different thread: The only way he could get away with it in America is if it were a parody or some kind of social commentary on Microsoft. Obviously, though, he's trying to capitalize on the similarity between the names. In America this is a no-no. Remember Victor's Secret? http://www.bizjournals.com/louisvil...03/daily17.html They wisely changed the name to Victor's Little Secret and won the copyright infringement case. mikerowesoft is just too close. Maybe mikerowe'ssoftware.com he could get away with.
I won't bother to post a link because the thread is closed. Besides, I'm the only one who said anything intelligent in the whole thread.
