Hollywood superstars Tom Cruise and Jennifer Lopez were united in shame when they topped the list of worst actor nominees in Hollywood's annual spoof of the Oscars, the Razzie Awards.
The pair joined a string of tired remakes and movie sequels including The Dukes of Hazzard and Son of the Mask in the nods for the 26th annual Razzie Awards that were unveiled a day before the Academy Award nominations.
The tongue-in-cheek Golden Raspberry Award Foundation says it was a disastrous year for Hollywood that has dishonoured the industry's good and great for nearly three decades.
Narrowing the worst picture nominees down to just five films posed an unprecedented challenge, the foundation said.
Competing against Hazzard and Son of the Mask for the title of worst movie of 2005 are hotel heiress Paris Hilton's horror film House of Wax, Dirty Love, and the sequel <em>Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo.
Actor Rob Schneider also bagged a worst actor nod for his turn in Deuce Bigalow, which the Razzies dismissed as a "comedy" sequel that no-one but the star and producers thought was funny.
