I'm a bit curious to what everyone here thinks about one of the latest bills in Congress.

???

Floridians seem to be opposed to this . . . which is clearly a NIMBY problem. If they intendend on drilling for oil I would understand that there may be environmental concerns caused by oil spills and the like.

Thoughts?

Hmmm.... oil spills from natural gas???? Does anyone else see a small issue here or is it only me?

I guess it's possible to hit an oil vein while drilling for gas. That can be contained. . . I'm sure. Moreover, I think Floridians think they will see off shore drilling platforms off shore. Which isn't true. These platforms would be miles off shore and would not be seen, even with a pair of binoculars. Needless to say is that, Floridians are making this issue into a pink elephant . . . you know it's there and you don't want to see it . . . but it's hard not to look. Despite the fact it will, more than likely, have no effect on their lives.
