WHITEFIELD, N.H. (AP) - Police and school officials are issuing warnings about a potentially fatal game gaining popularity among teenagers after the death of a 14-year-old boy.
Eighth-grader Rodney Webster died last week after choking himself to deprive his brain of oxygen so he could feel a brief rush when the blood flow returned.

Some people would do this in high shool, in the 1990's. nothing new here. Kids in search of a buzz.

Not to encourage anyone, but there was a craze MMmm years ago when I was at school, where after hyperventilating, you put your thumb in your mouth and blew as hard as you could. If done properly, you passed out. At its peak, 27 pupils collapsed in morning assembly!

That's right.
And inhaling bottles of computer cleaner gives a nice "brief rush", too. And a nice humming sound and kaleidoscopic vision along with it. ;)
And it's free with bottles readily available lying around the computer labs.

That's right. Hey, if kids are going to do it no matter what parents say, sure, we should not only give them condoms and vaccinations for STDs at age 11 and abortions without parental consent at age 12, but hand out drugs, too. Because after all, hey, they are just going to do it anyway.

Glad to see you've finally come around. It's a refreshing change.

I have no sympathy for stupidity. Maybe it's a good think to eliminate these idiots from the gene pool. What did Steven Wright say, "The problem with the gene pool is there are no life guards?"
Yeah what can I say. I'm in a ruthless mood today.

Makes you wonder when 'happy slapping' is going to cross the pond...
Kids do daft stuff. That's why they're kids!

It won't cross the Pond. Doing that over here is a good way to get shot by an armed civilian, victim or no...

Kids? By the time I was 14 I was working and trying to cope with not having things handed to me. Not doing stupid stuff like that. Seems to me many of those kids are too cuddled and have too much time on their hands. There are kids their age that would do anything to have the same physical health or lack of handicaps and they throw it all away by being stupid.
Ever see somebody that had brain damage from sniffing glue? It's really pathetic.

Seriously, people seem to be getting more stupid every day. Sigh.
