Just wondering if there is anyone here who can help me out. :)

I'm confused about the new bill. I understand it is against the law to harbor illegal immigrants or assist them across the border. Is it against the law if you find an illegal and you assist them with food and water or medical help (before you call the Border Patrol)? Just wondering if anyone knew if this was clear. I was talking with a professor today (I'm in Texas) and he said that it would be against the law for anyone to even assist an illegal immigrant with food, water, or medical help...not having anything to do with actually assisting them with the crime of coming across illegally. I googled around and couldn't find anything concrete. Thanks if you can help.

I read the text, after Googling, of Simpson's Bill and saw nothing that said you would be criminally liable if you helped a person who was an illegal alien.

Thank you patrick. I didn't think so, but I wanted to make sure. Is there any chance you could post the link to what you read. I can't seem to find it that easily. Thanks!

I want proof to show the prof to help him get his facts straight, lol. :)

pinky, as long as you understand that there are universal, and eternal, laws, which are forever in your Heart, and that those laws are superior to man-made laws, you'll always do what is right and just.

Obeying the natural laws of what is right, instead of obeying the man-made laws, will require strength on your part.

If it is true that there is a law that states it is wrongful to give bread and water to a women with hungry children, then that law is unjust and should be rightfully rebelled against.

Your freedom is what gives you that right to rebel.

"Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness."

Just google "immigration bill". The one I read was the Simpson Bill. There are others in the mill but they don't seem to apply either. And, proving your professor wrong will get you no where. He either knew what he was saying was wrong or didn't care so forget correcting him.

But, specific bills aside, any statute concerning aiding and abetting requires specific intent which means you have to know the person had committed a crime.

It is not against the law to assist illegal aliens across the border, or the law simply does not matter.

If it was illegal or the law mattered, there would not be massive water barrels with thirty foot flag poles demarkating their location all along the California border assiting illegal aliens in their efforts to violate US law.

To prophecy:I agree with you. It is unhumane for any law to be passed that would make it a crime to not be able to medically assist another human being. That is the point I want to make clear. A prof recently told me that this is what is included in the new immigration bill. I disagreed with him, because I am almost positive that the bill talks about assisting them across the border, not about assisting someone with food, water, or medical help if they are in dire need.

patrick, thank you I did find it. Sorry to put you to work. :sorry: You're right, the prof probably doesn't care he is lying to his class. Most professors do anyway, why bother, lol.

No, I think you misunderstand me.

I don't give a rat's arse if criminals die in the desert trying to break into my country. Good riddance!!!

I have half a mind to blow holes in every water barrel around and let the scum perish.

Scummy I think there's a more humane way to handle the situation. Besides, this has been going on for years so it's not like you blasting away at all the water bottles along the California border is going to change any law or get anyone to side with your extremism. Which side do you affiliate yourself with, btw. Hopefully not Republican.

I remember hearing the same thing, somewhere.

I never doubted where you stood on the matter.

Tell it to the Mexican government.

Of course it would not accomplish anything of substance. It would be an act of pure unadulterated testosterone fueled extremism. Fun. The best kind.

I don't "affiliate" myself with any side. The small arsenal in my closet is my side.

I am not a socialist with internationalist weak on defense tendencies so I can't possibly vote for Democrats.

And I am not a liberal so I can't vote for Republicans.

I could not personally let a person go without food and water that I met in the desert. I would assist them. Then, call Border Patrol, then send a bill to the Department of Health and Welfare in Mexico City for my time and material, if they even have one......oh....maybe thats why so many Mexicans want to come here...........Mexico doesn't care about Mexicans. I forgot.
