Well that's nice.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A bomb that killed six civilians Monday near Baiji, Iraq, missed its target by 65 feet (20 meters) and hit the wrong home, military officials said.
And lets not forget the frendly words from the country that brought us 'Frendly Fire'

Four Canadian soldiers died in Afghanistan last night after a US fighter jet mistakenly dropped one or two 500lb, laser-guided bombs on their unit
But this rarely happens, right?

Three wounded UK soldiers have described how they survived an attack by a US A-10 Thunderbolt anti-tank aircraft that killed one of their troop and destroyed two armoured vehicles.
One of the survivors criticised the US pilot for showing "no regard for human life" and accused him of being "a cowboy" who had "gone out on a jolly".
The US A-10 aircraft circled and came around for a second attack
Another survivor said he stumbled out of the burning wreckage of his light tank and waved frantically to the American pilot to try to halt his second attack.
The so-called friendly fire incident, 40 kilometres (24.8 miles) north of Basra, left one soldier missing, presumed dead, and another in intensive care on RFA Argus, the UK forces' hospital ship in the Gulf.
Guess not.
Keep beating that chest Joe..... ;)

**** happens in all wars, it sucks but it happens, in the vast majority of times it doesnt happen. But I understand you want to demonize the troops and American troops especially.
The articles on our allies were from 2002/ 2003 during major combat operations.

And that makes a difference? - Do bombs get suddenly more accurate when you end 'Major Combat Operations'?

And that makes a difference? - Do bombs get suddenly more accurate when you end 'Major Combat Operations'?In order: Yes and No. No, they don't get more accurate (but nice way to stick in that well-worn symbol of incompetence one more time). But if only a very small percentage of ordinance is innaccurate--and you want shine light on one or two terrible instances of inaccuracy in order to discredit the whole thing--it's best to look for them when thousands of bombs are dropping.
Unless you believe one should conduct military operations only when perfect execution is guaranteed (which is to say, never) then bringing up the one or two bad instances three years after they occurred appears a little cheesy.
If you want to say the war was a bad idea, great--there's a lot to be said for this. If you want to say that warriors make mistakes--well, so does everyone else.

You are missing the point(s) Atticus. My initial take on the post was 'Geee Whizzz - Look what we can do!'
These things are as accurate as the person directing them. They are not the be all, and end all of modern warfare, and they will never be 100% accurate.
And I didn't bring up the 'Major Combat Operations', Check the last three words of Gi's last post. ;)

Galileo: Someday men will travel at 50 MPH.
Voltaire: Poor Galileo, he's obviously in his dotage.
(from memory, forgive me if got the details wrong)

No but there is a lot less chance for something to go wrong because of the lower intensity of the conflict.

All the high tech boys toys count for naught when you don't have enough grunts on the ground to hold the ground so expensively obliterated.
