End Of The World (X-Members, Down With the Average Joe (http://www.answers.com/topic/down-with-the-average-joe) )

Every time I open my eyes, same feeling set to overwhelm me
It's a voice inside of my head that says "kiss your ***, today is the end of the world"
Today's the end of the world
Go!

I'm pulled of my wake and over my window
The half sunshine, it's got nothing for me, it's got nothing for me
I'll fold my head back under the pillows, to hide from responsability

Oh yeah, I know
Will there be time to sit right in front of me
Oh yeah, I know
'Cause today's the end of the world
End of the world, end of the world
End of the world!

I don't wanna work when I'm havin' a good time
The end is there, tomorrow just won't bug me, you know it just won't bug me
I close my eyes to the rest of the world, won't **** me up when I can't see

Oh yeah, I know
Will there be time to sit right in front of me
Oh yeah, I know
Today's the end of the world
End of the world, end of the world
End of the world!

Oooh, end of the world, end of the world
End of the world, end of the world
End of the world, end of the world (tomorrow just won't bug me, tomorrow just won't bug me)
End of the world, end of the world (tomorrow just won't bug me, tomorrow just won't bug me, yeah)

It won't surprise me. Everything on the web site is true as far as i could see.
It did not say on that web site that George Bush is the anti-Christ, but it seems as though Bush is leading the way in world corruption.

"According to Prophecies in Daniel 9:27, Matt 24:15 and 2 Thes 2:4, a Temple will exist in Israel at the beginning of the Great Tribulation. This is confirmed in Revelation 11:1 by having John measure a Temple and count the worshippers there shortly before the Tribulation begins."

"Following Israel's return to God after the battle of Ezekiel 38-39, the Jewish people will re-establish their covenant (Old not New) with Him. This will require a return to Levitical practices and so a Temple will be built. This is the Temple spoken of in Daniel and Revelation. Following instructions given by Ezekiel and needing to avoid the enormous problems a Jerusalem Temple would create in the Moslem world, this Temple will be located north of Jerusalem in Shiloh. It will be defiled in the middle of the last 7 years as outlined in Daniel 9:24-27, Ezekiel 44:6-9, Matt 24:15 and 2 Thes 2:4 kicking off the Great Tribulation, but it won't be destroyed."

Me, too Rids... :flowers:

The "end of days", the rapture, Armmaggedon, or what have you, will not happen because of Godly intervention, it will happen because the minds of men think they are acting on God's behalf. In so doing they will destroy the world, and the rest us, and all life will have to go along for the ride, whether we believe or not. I think that more than anything else makes me mad...

I have to wonder about the "free choice" of all those people who never heard of Jesus and his magic l&c coupons.

Actually, creation itself attests to God:

Romans 1:20 "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse."

Now taking that and seeing what the Great Commission in Matthew 20 (and Mark 16:15) is all about:

16But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated.
17When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful.
18And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
19"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
20teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

You can see that the world, or "all the nations" is to at least heard of Jesus Christ before the end-times tribulation years happen, even during those times there will be Saints on earth preaching in His name for all. Even though with threat of massive persecution.

But with creation itself there already, people should be seeking His face or a creator nonetheless, if they do not they are "without excuse."

I understand they get a free pass.....

No, I am sorry they do not.

That is where you got it wrong. It is believe in Christ or your get the absence of God which is Hell, while those who belive in Christ get Heaven and/or with God.

FRY?

Hell is a fairytale, created by those that control people through fear. A much worse place awaits those who arent right with god when they die, and thats oblivion. A place without god or existence. Only satan is sent to a place of torture, refferred to as the abyss during the 1000 year raign of christ on earth.

You believe that a benevolent god would torture someone for eternity, You believe that enternal torture is justice, or even works?

If you were tortured for eternity you would eventually become something different, you would be driven insane and therefor it wouldnt be justice but vengence without need which isnt logical.

Why dont you show me a place in the bible King James or any christain-related bible that says that Everyone that does not believe in christ will burn forever and ever in a lake of fire.

And when you do, Ill read that entire book that verse is in to understand its context. Because you see, todays churchs manipulate people with one-liners that are completely mis-used and out of context.

For the wages of sin is death;
but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Romans 6:23

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.
This is the second death.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life
was cast into the lake of fire.
Revelation 20:14-15

This does not mean a eternal torture factory, it means they will be destroyed as hell means DESTRUCTION not ETERNAL TORTURE FACTORY.

Oh Dear! I summarised Sauniere's post in biblical terms, to contradict Sub's comment that it was a sad thing. Prophecy is a nonsense, as is free will (in biblical terms)

It was an Epicurean saying which Paul encountered in Athens.

Perhaps I am confused, but how is oblivion worse than hell? Suffering and torture for all eternity means perpetual existence in a state of agony and pain without the possibility of escape, whereas oblivion is a state of non-existence, and by extension, non-experience. I've quoted this here before, but as Fredriech Nietzsche has put it, this is the same non-existence as from before we are born, and there's nothing particularly frightening about that.
