What I mean is which one is responsible for more atrocities vs mankind? This may be a pointless question since you could say something like "everyone dies and God lets them therefore Religion is worse beacuse God kills everyone." There are also many instances that could be blamed or either/both sides... ie, religious extremists nuke a city, is science responsible for the nuke capability or religion for the fanatics views and perspectives?

That's a cynical way of looking at things, Mr. Diaz. My best wild guess is science is most responsible for atrocities because we wouldn't have weapons without it.

Science makes better weapons, religion instigates to war .

Do the math.

Science may be responsible for the knowledge to build the weapons but it's religion that gives people the desire to use them against one another.

Guns don't kill people. People kill people. ;)

"Some people just need killin", I think is attributed to one of Clint Eastwood's characters. Its true. Don't blame the toolmaker for irresponsible use of the tools.

That applies to scientists building weapons that are misused by leaders to wage war instead of defend against an attacker. That applies to religions which are misused by a few to instigate wars.

Neither religion nor scientists are responsible for being misused by irresponsible leadership. Its a false choice to either blame religion or science for problems neither are responsible for.

Science is worse. You have to prove it. Repeatedly. Religions you can make up on the spur of the moment, then have interminable doctrinal rows about which way your God parts Her hair.....
