Remeber the "great sucking sound" Perot warned Americans about when NAFTA was being debated? All those jobs going overseas and being filled by people willing to work for less?

Perot Systems to increase workforce in India
Vasantha Arora (IANS)
Washington, February 7

Perot Systems, the computer services company founded by former presidential candidate Ross Perot, is all set to add about 3,500 jobs in India and move into two new facilities there this year.

Most of the growth will come from a call centre and medical claims processing business, whose employee numbers are expected to rise to 2,800 workers from 800, said a report in the Star Telegram, published from Dallas, Texas.

An entry-level computer programmer in India is paid $7,000 to $8,000 a year, compared with $40,000 to $50,000 in the US.

Perot Systems said the additional workers in India are expected to be mostly health claims processors in Chennai. Another new facility in Bangalore might start later this year.

What do you want him to do lose money because he can not compete?

Woah, slow down fella. I voted for Perot and was showing disdain for his about face on his own values.

I gleaned that right off the bat, BlueLieu.

EDS revolutionized and streamlined the health insurance industry. From a patient's viewpoint, claims are paid rapidly, errors are seen immediately and appealed, and in many cases paperwork is halved. Records are condensed and stored more easily, and referencing those records is enabled more easily. Encryption has safeguarded those records probably more than any other method of storing paper, paper, paper, endless paper.

If he takes it overseas, how will it affect us? Will the big trucks pass any savings down to the little bicycles? I wonder if the employers who provide health insurance and the patients who purchase individual policies will see any benefit from that. There's a lot of competition among insurance companies.
