The inability of people to see what is right in front of them is one of life's paradoxes. Thinkers have commented on this human anomaly throughout the ages. Leonardo daVinci said, "The average person looks, but does not see..." John Carpenter's classic sci-fi story "They Live" is a socio-political commentary about the startling revelation that awaits one who can really see.
Human beings are not the only group afflicted with perception problems. As an example, consider the world of birds, specifically, the cuckoo bird. This bird has an ominous survival strategy. Rather than building her own nest, the female cuckoo sneaks into the nest of another bird, discards one of the eggs and lays her own in its place. Upon hatching the baby cuckoo then pushes out the other rightful hatchlings. The unsuspecting parent birds, guided by instinctive cues of open beak and cries, continue to feed the intruding cuckoo---they don't have a clue.
The cuckoo, however, never attempts this sneaking maneuver against a falcon or eagle nest. They choose the more mild mannered birds such as thrushes. Imagine a falcon pair observing these cuckoo exploits from their domain.
The male falcon exclaims, "What a slackard that female thrush is, letting that cuckoo steal her kids rightful place!"
"Well," retorts Mrs. Falcon, "Where is brave Mr. Thrush? Why didn't he stop the invasion in the first place?"
Finally Mr. Falcon wonders, "What's wrong with the both of them..." Mrs Falcon finishes his sentence, "Can't they SEE a cuckoo is not a thrush!? It's a disgrace."
Mr. Falcon ventures, "Maybe I should fly down there and alert the thrushes...explain to them what the cuckoos are up to."
"Oh," warns Mrs. Falcon, "They won't listen and they'll say that you are harboring anti-cuckooism. The thrushes maybe too blind to save themselves."
One can empathize with the falcon's perspective, observing how the kosher conservatives (neo-cons) have infiltrated and overtaken the authentic conservative movement and are feathering their own Israeli nests. With gaping beaks they mouth conservative platitudes about patriotism and family values, while their obvious agenda is to make the Middle East safe for Israel...secured with American blood and treasure.
Sadly, there are those who can see and understand the machinations of the kosher conservatives, but craving notoriety and wealth, and lacking honor, they willing sell their souls. Rush Limblab is a most loathsome example of a sell-out to the cuckoo-conservative cause. He personifies the meaning of "chicken-hawk." Not to be outdone by the guys, there are plenty of female sell-outs to the kosher conservatives. Ann Colder is one of their prostitutes. She appeared on MSNBC's Saturday Final with Lawrence O'Donnell, to discuss the war in Iraq. Dismissing the concerns of the anti-war guests for war casualties she said, "They're afraid someone in the military might get his hair mussed." Ann Colder is another chicken-hawk and just what the kosher conservatives want in a female. She is a loud-mouthed lawyer, blond and barren.
By now we should all be asking ourselves, "How would falcons handle a bunch of cuckoos and chicken hawks?"
