The Vatican has long preached abstinence over contraception, but now they are being accused of telling people that condoms do not help to prevent AIDS. This is being done primarily in countries with high rates of AIDS.

As a Catholic, I am always amazed how sex makes them crazy and illrational. Maybe we catholics should insist that they have sex with a mate for a while before they chime in on the subject. :)
