Although the recent WND report of al-Qaida terrorists allegedly baking a young boy and serving him as a meal to his relatives was too horrific for some to believe, a major Christian ministry is citing another example – and also claims such a practice has its roots in the historical stories of Islam.
The issue has come into focus following a report from Michael Yon, a Special Forces soldier now in Iraq to report on the successes there. He told radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt he was inspired by a "news cycle that seems to pander toward the terrorists."
Yon, who has earned widespread respect as an independent journalist, reported that Iraqi officials told him about al-Qaida terrorists baking children and serving them to their families.
(Story continues below)
He confirmed independently to WND that an Iraqi official had recounted for him instances in which the terrorists would bake a young boy, then invite his family to have lunch, with the baked child as the main course.

That's hard to believe. It's a pretty un-Islamic thing to do--sounds more like an anti-Jewish "Elders of Zion" blood-libel turned the other way.
Sorry, but we're talking double hearsay--a report based on a claim from "Iraqi officials"--reported by World Net Daily.
No sale.

I thought it was Jews who do so; or do they drink baby's blood?

But if the article came from Al Jazeera talking about atrocities perpetrated by American soldiers, it would be the gospel, right?

Strange. I read World Net Daily for a bit of humour and light relief, I didn't know people took it seriously.

No, not right.
And even if, I doubt that people would believe the story about US soldiers cooking babies.
WND has hit a new low. Nothing else.

Hardly. If a report came from Al Jazeera that American soldiers were cooking and eating children, most people would disregard it out of hand.
That's because the world knows that American soldiers are largely, civilized and are not cannibals; but now on the other hand, in view of the atrocities Muslim terrorists have committed in the name of religion, the world just might believe the Worldnetdaily article.

The right-wing world of US WND-addicts might believe it but thus far even the worst AQ-related terrorists haven't commited acts of cannibalism.
It's a stupid story with a nasty rascist undertone to it.

Sometimes, the truth does hurt, and the left-winged elements don't want to admit the ugliness of what their favored people might be doing. Now, I have viewed the beheadings of American citizens by Muslim terrorists, and that was quite ugly and disturbing. After viewing those atrocities, nothing would surprise me at the capabilities of Al Quaida. Then there are others on the left, who would sweep all that under the rug like it would appear others here are attempting to do.

1. The terrorists are certainly not anyone's favourite people around here. But thanks for the OG and insult.
2. Beheadings are nasty but nowhere near cooking and serving children. Or, to get to US soldiers again, just because some of them have commited acts that are equally foul as beheadings it does not mean that it would be likely for them to cook kids.
3. WND has a record for disorting the truth or stating outright lies. Why should I, or anyone with common sense for that matter, believe them?

Of what insult do you speak? It is you, who have linked me with the ugly right-winged fanatics, but I don't see that as an insult; merely the price of being at odds with the largely leftist posters on this forum.
I suppose you believe that Al Jazeera does not print propaganda, then?

Muslims prefer halal meat--I don't think human children qualify.
Since Muslims and Jews have dietary laws in their religions, it's more plausible to say "Christians cook children" than this claim.

If you will notice and if you read the article, the cooked children are fed to their enemies. In this case, the child was fed to his parents, who were enemies. Heaven forbid that an AQ would eat a child. If you were captured, that would be your fare, not theirs.

I'm actually a little interested in this question (take a look at the avatar, ahem) and so I looked it up. Seems a rather widespread sort of thing to say about people you hate:
Blood libels are sensationalized allegations that a person or group engages in human sacrifice, often accompanied by the claim that the blood of victims is used in various rituals and/or acts of cannibalism. The alleged victims are often children.
Some of the best documented cases of blood libel focus upon accusations against Jews , but many other groups have been accused, including Christians, Cathars, Carthaginians, Knights Templar, Witches, Christian heretics, Roma, Wiccans, Druids, neopagans, Satanists.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_libel
Looks like everbody's doin' it! Hey, here's the latest right-wing accusation--it's the Chinese! Look at the whole thing, since it gets more silly as it goes on: The United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women, held in Beijing in 1995, was hosted live on the Internet - one of the first of such events on the Web, and thousands of women the world over logged on. Conservative Christians could not fathom why the rest of the world was not outraged by the convergence of their three arch enemies: women, the communist Chinese, and the Clintons. James Dobson, of the ultra-conservative Focus on the Family book and radio empire, covered the event in his August 1995 newsletter titled, Position on United Nations Conference on Women. Uncertain that he could move apathetic Americans with bland facts, Dobson quoted a World Magazine article about the Chinese dining on aborted fetuses as evidence of this godless triad.
[....]
More than a dozen mainstream, and fringe Christian "pro-life" organizations ran the Chinese fetus eating rumor in their newsletters and on their web sites. No concern for the veracity of the original reports was shown, such was the reputation of World Magazine among Christians seeking news delivered in World's "interesting" and "arresting fashion"
The rumors of Chinese fetus-eating were swallowed by the most gullible members of Congress, including Representatives Frank Wolf (R-Virginia), Chris Smith (R-New Jersey, Co-Chairman of the House Pro-Life Caucus), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Florida), and Mark Souder (R-Indiana).
[....]
And in a "Sense of Congress" statement in 1995 it was suggested to the president that he decline visiting China "unless there is dramatic overall progress on human rights in China and Tibet" including an end to the use of "human fetal remains for consumption as food."http://www.jesus21.com/poppydixon/sex/chinese_eating_fetuses.html

In the Baptist Church, it's Welsh's Grape Juice. I got into a big argument with my preacher over the true defnition of wine. He claims that grape juice is wine and fermented grapes is strong drink. No way!

ROTFLMAO. I have never read WND before....usually I see it quoted as a source and just dismiss it out of hand. With headlines like that, though, I might have to start. I see a high potential for entertainment there.
As far as the baby eating...I think I will wait for some confirmation on that one.

I heard from a guy that muslims poison our wells and rape our christian women as part of a global plot to disrupt our blood line. All in service to the Dark One.
Dont be an idiot. Dont fall for such sensationalistic and uncorraborated stories.

That is the double standard.Soldiers doing something bad very believable, the Islamofascist/Islamo-Nazi does something bad it must not be true or it must the USA's or Israel's fault.

I am a cynic when it comes to the news -- ALL news. I demand proof and evidence, even when it's news I would like to believe.
Believing everything you read, especially when it confirms your already held beliefs, doesn't seem really rational to me.
