CRAWFORD, Texas -

Is a White House wedding in the works? Jenna Bush, one of President Bush's twin daughters, is engaged to be married to her longtime boyfriend, Henry Hager, the White House announced Thursday.

Asked if the two were getting married in the Rose Garden, Sally McDonough, press secretary for first lady Laura Bush, replied: "They have not set any details, date or place."

Jenna Bush, 25, and Hager, 29, were engaged Wednesday in Maine, she said.

The two have been dating for several years, and Hager is often seen at Jenna Bush's side at Bush family functions and formal events, such as a White House dinner in November 2005 in honor of Britain's Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

Hager will be returning to school this fall to complete his master's degree in business administration at the University of Virginia. He has an undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University.

Hager, who has been a White House aide and worked on Bush's re-election campaign, is the son of John and Maggie Hager of Richmond, Va. His father is chairman of the Republican Party in Virginia, former assistant secretary of the Education Department's office of special education, former lieutenant governor of Virginia and former director of Virginia's Office of Commonwealth Preparedness.

We need to start the draft for men AND women so Jenna can find out what it's like for many military couples in Bush's war.

On the other hand who gives a flying f***.

I agree. I was gonna say, I would care why again?

A cousin of mine got married just recently, should I be posting about her wedding on WS too?

If like her Dad, she be stupid.
But she has looks, spunk, and money aplenty.
I'd do her if given the chance.
I need a good rich girl to support me so I can retire.
Where should I hang out to find such female pulchritude?

Good idea. Maybe Hillary would be drafted along with Chelsea.

I doubt they would draft a 59 year old.

At the age of 59, she's worth 10 young Republicans.

Meh, she's alright, but frankly there are lots of better looking girls in my city. Besides, I don't think I could stand being involved with the Bush family in any way whatsoever :p.

If I recall in the last couple of elections military experience was an important issue. I don't think being the ex-POTUS wife qualfies as having military experience. So if Hillary gets to be POTUS, you think Chelsea should enlist?

I hope any young person getting married has a happy and full life as a couple.

Actually I think I'd stay away from all the American political elite families frankly.

I tend to agree with you on that, but I admire you for staying current with American politics. You won't find me on the Canadian forum, mainly because I just don't know its politics.

Thanks Bicycleman. It's to be expected, you are our big neighbour after all. What happens down there, affects us, at least in our relations with you (whether we like it or not). I can't say that I like American politics though, I much prefer our ways.

Anybody old enough to remember the song "American Woman" by Burt Cummings of the Guess Who? He was a Canadian and the song wasn't singing the virtues of American women.
