Awesome, thanks for posting that. You gotta love Ted.

I used to love listening to his songs "Free for All" and "Dog Eat Dog" many many years ago.

There's nothing like a good political discussion! So glad Ted could add something to the debate!

Who cares what Ted Nugent says? Why is what he says automatically any more relevant than Alec Baldwin or the former members of NWA?

Perhaps...but do you wanna know something? Every now and then say, "What the f***." "What the f***" gives you freedom. Freedom brings opportunity. Opportunity makes your future. Ted likes to say that a lot.

Another middle aged punk who finally discovers his testicles. Too bad he didn't have those testicles when he was 18 and he could of joined the military and learned the proper way to handle a weapon.

No matter how many machine guns he can parade on stage he will always know that he was too much of a chicken to serve in the military. Even Elvis Presley in the height of his career did his patriotic duty and joined the Army. You never saw Elvis later on in life waving a machine gun because he didn't need to prove he was a man to anybody.

He has the right to give his political opinion as much as anyone. Oh, wait, that's right -- if Rosie O'Donnell gives her opinion, she is criticized and called names!

I'm sorry, let me try again: only right-wing celebrities are allowed to give their opinion. My bad.

Oh pleeease!, I don't care what celebrities say. Criticize away. Most people are smart enough to know bullxxxx is being said. My bad.:)

Haven't had a good thread decrying the vitriol of the left lately. Its about time isn't it?

He claims that 30 days before his draft board physical, he stopped all forms of personal hygiene. The last 10 days, he ingested nothing but Vienna sausages and Pepsi; and a week before his physical, he stopped using bathrooms altogether, virtually living inside pants caked with his own excrement, stained by his urine. That spectacle won Nugent a deferment, he says. "... but if I would have gone over there, I'd have been killed, or I'd have killed, or I'd killed all the hippies in the foxholes...I would have killed everybody." - Detroit Free Press Magazine , July 15, 1990

Ted, another oldschool tough guy.

Of course I can. My point, which you have missed, goes to the hypocricy of some (not all) of the right-wing posters here who shout out something along these lines whenever a liberal celebrity makes a political comment: (ahem) "Who cares what some celebrity thinks? They should all just shut up!"

I disagree with that attitude; everyone has the right to say what they want, even Ted Nuisance.

You never saw Elvis later on in life waving a machine gun because he didn't need to prove he was a man to anybody.

see - the second amendment.

and joining the military doesnt make you a man. if you believe so then you should really check the testicles of every american, because what, less than 10 percent have served at any one time in their lives?

now if you wanted to argue HELPED EARN a sense of responsibility i might not have been so quick to judge...

Wow this guy is real idiot. He's a gift to the dems. No way the repubs will get back the whitehouse in 08' with people like this guy on their side. As the cliche goes who needs enemies when you've got friends like this?

Am not saying only those who have served have testicles.

What gets me is that Nugent wants to get on stage now spinning two machine guns while boasting about killing people. Why didn't this Rambo-wannabe join the military when he was 18 and learn to be a real soldier?

First of all we didn't need him and doubt he could have finished boot camp.

Secondly we all know why he didn't join.

Thirdly, if we have fire marshalls who prohibit some pyro stunts on a stage for the public's safety, then why isn't there someone to police a nut spinning two machine guns in front of a full audience?
You never consider a gun empty so this was totally retarded.

He has the rage, but he doesn't have the war record. At 18, he was called up to serve in Vietnam. "In 1977 you gave an interview to High Times [the cannabis user's journal of record] where you claimed you defecated in your clothes to avoid the draft."

("I got 30 days' notice of the physical," Nugent told them. "I ceased cleansing my body. Two weeks before the test I stopped eating food with nutritional value. A week before, I stopped going to the bathroom. I did it in my pants. My pants got crusted up.")

"I never ****** my pants to get out of the draft," says Nugent, good-naturedly.

"You also told them you took crystal meth [methamphetamine, the highly destabilising drug sometimes described as poor man's crack] before the medical - as a result of which, and I quote: 'I got this big juicy 4F.'"

"Unbelievable. Meth," he replies, in a tone of deep sarcasm. "Yes, that's my drug of choice. You've got to realise that these interviewers would arrive with glazed eyes and I would make stories up. I never did crystal meth. And I never pooped my pants."

"But you did dodge the draft." "I had a 1Y [student deferment]. I enrolled at Oakland Community College."

"You said then that you wanted 'to teach the stupid bastards in the military a lesson'. I'd have thought you'd have loved the army. Guns. Travel. Danger." "Back then, I didn't even understand what World War II was."

"So basically," - I admit that I have, unaccountably, started to speak Nugent - "you didn't want to get your Michigan *** blown off in Vietnam." "Correct. I did not want to get my *** blown off in Vietnam."

"I know you do a lot of charity work for wounded veterans. Has it occurred to you that someone else may have died in Saigon because you didn't go?"

"Absolutely."
