This is quite a serious longish 'test' which will show how much your views fit in with a number of religions/ideologies.
http://www.beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7665_1.html

I fit best with Neo-paganism and Mahayana Buddhism.:)

My top five, the above 90% matches:

1. Eastern Orthodox (100%)
2. Roman Catholic (100%)
3. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (97%)
4. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (93%)
5. Orthodox Quaker (91%)

What I actually am is a postmodern/emergent Pentecostal who likes liturgy and stuff, and who agrees with the Catholic and Orthodox churches on quite a lot... so I guess this result makes sense. If it's a bit off, it's because some of the questions had no answers that quite fit. I could probably worship at any of those and feel good about it.

They didn't score high, but I've learned a lot from and am fond of Zen Buddhism and Taoism.

One of the 'flaws' of this test is that it does not exclude ideologies whose basic premises one doesn't share in the results, so even if you insist god does not exist, it may still show that you have common ground with Roman-Catholic, for example.

You're right. I got "Secular humanism" at 100%.

I never thought much about it but I can see their point: An atheist does not imply anything about morals. I have a strong moral code (which, ironically, is mirrored in what many religions preach): following "the golden rule," caring for those less fortunate, belief in human rights, etc. I think there is a right and wrong in the world, but it's based on how humans should treat each other and not from some supernatural source.

So perhaps I should be calling myself a secular humanist instead!

Thanks for the link; it was informative and made me think.

No great surprise there for me.

I didn't much like the way several different responses were often lumped together, however. take question #3, for instance -- there is too big a difference between the responses to includethem as if indistinguishable..

I've taken this quiz before, and my results this time were similar to previous. I'm much more in tune with Eastern religions (Hinduism 100%, Mayahana Buddhism 92%) than Western ones--even though I identify as a Christian. Christianity is familiar to me, but I think of it as a structural framework for getting at something not bound by any particular framework.

100% Secular Humanist... big surprise there.

What's interesting is that it rated me 91% for "Unitarian Universalist," higher than the 80% for "Nontheist." Evidently the priority I place on supporting human freedom and dignity weighs in there.

As an aside, though, it's damned annoying to take a 20-question quiz that makes you stop for an ad after every second question...

Many = constituting or forming a large number; numerous

# Catholic churches in Kentucky = 304

Southern Baptist churches = 2,266

United Methodist churches = 1,060

UU churches = 8

Many others high on my list = 0

I stand by my original statement. :(

I got 100% secular humanist. However I have a gripe with this quiz. One of the options has it as There is no god, not sure etc etc etc.... That is a big group to lump into one entire category. There is a huge difference between atheists and agnostics. It just seems kind of bias to me.

Looking through the questions I would say only disengaged, or not interested in the spiritual.
