I thinkthe cat. of Touchy Topics suits the section well. Honestly. People are touch on these subjects both ways. I myself am looking for one of those jesus fish with feet, that say "darwin" inside. So the topics of religion are touchy to me, because having been to church, gone through communion and such, I feel that religion is little more than some history, with added comfort adages. I get upset when people try to sell me on the idea of religion through guilt, fear, etc. Other's I suspect would be offended by my thoughts, and think me evil.
No, I vote on keeping the section name as it is. :)

Religion is often the most sensitive topic you can discuss, so I thought the name works. I'll keep it for a while, and then reconsider if it no longer seems appropriate.

They are all small minded. What difference does a person's sexual preference make? Who cares. Is the man a good priest? That's all they should be asking. In about 20 or 30 years (hopefully sooner), we will all be embarrassed by this.

my point is that he was already a priest! They let him in in the first place and then when he makes something of himself THEN they start crying... Way to go hypocrites. If you dont want a gay bishop, dont employ a gay priest.

You want contraversial? Get this...
I firmly believe that if you eliminated every gay priest (practising or otherwise), from the history of the Catholic faith, it would reduce the numbers by over 50%.
The question is, does this make them lesser than a celibate hetrosexual priest?
I don't believe so.
If a man chooses to be celibate and devote his life to God, his sexuality is irrelevent.
I'd have more concerns about a chatter box who became a Trappist monk.

And btw, thank you for the controversy :)

I think your percentage is way off. I'm sure it's closer to 80 or 90%. . . . .but then, this percentage includes pediphiles.

 Hmmm...
And no women are paedophiles?
I'm very sorry to say that there are female paedophiles too.
There are certain sectors of society that we hope are above reproach. The clergy, the police, politicians (ok...that's pushing the realms of credibility a bit :p ), but you get my drift.
When any of these sectors...people who occupy a position of trust...are found to be less than we would hope, it's a scandal.
Unfortunately, paedophilia doesn't know any social boudaries.
A paedophile is just as likely to be a doctor or lawyer as they are to be unemployed or serving your fries.
