This is a fairly comprehensive list for anyone overseas or here to check on a daily basis to keep up on current news. Two of my favorites are listed. Brits will also be pleased to note that BBC is also listed.

Note that such ideological rags like the NYT is not listed. None of the news networks are listed either.

7 News Sites That Keep You Dialed In Every Day

Mixx gives you better control than Digg over the news you see daily at the site, while sites like Slate dish their own selection in a way that brings you up to date quickly.

Not a list to suit my tastes. None are on my daily list.
Lucianne, Google News, Christian Science Monitor, Fox News, Salt Lake City Tribune are my daily news sources. I occasionally go to Drudge to connect to Thomas Sowell or Walter Williams columns.

I would also recommend http://www.globeandmail.com and http://www.cbc.ca/news for a couple of good Canadian news sites.

Otherwise I read actual papers/magazines

Financial Times
New York Times
Wall Street Journal
Seattle Times
Seattle PI
The Economist
Newsweek

Sadly I don't have enough time to read each paper everyday, I typically page through them throughout the week.

Just out of curiosity, which of the 7 do you mine for your prolific Baraknaphobia series of threads? From which d you get the notion the CRA is responsible for the current financial mess the country is in?

Thanks in advance for the 5 good news sites!

If you think NYT is a ideological source but Slate isn't--I don't know where you're coming from. The problem with a site like Mixx is the very thing this article says is good--you can look only at news recommended by people like yourself.

Every one of us could make a list of 7-10 sites we think are cool. Well...maybe not Sarah Palin.

I am sure Palin could come up with 7 sites that are cool, unfortunately they would likelyu mirror those of a teenage girl
