I have been coming here for a while. I've seen posts that took my breath away with their stupidity. I've seen op-eds quoted that seem to have been written in another, less ordered, universe.
But this beats it all. I believe that all of the posters here do not share these ideas. I think that they will cause all posters to scratch their heads and wonder what this guy is on and can they get some to tranquilize horses with.

The Quote."You know, if you were a slave in the old South, what did you get as a slave? You got free room and board, you got free money, and you got rewarded for having children because that was just, you know, tomorrow's slave. So, you got a free house, you got free money, and you got rewarded for having children. Can I ask a question? How's that different from welfare? You get a free house, you get free food, and you get rewarded for having children. Oh, wait a minute, hold on a second. There is a difference: The slave had to work for it."
America has to stop listening to these people. That will make them go away. Then you can start talking about things in a sane manner again.

So you doubt that he said that? Somehow medimatters cooked up the tape? Or is the mention of the source a codeword? Incidentally please show us the times that Media matters has made stuff up. Or said that people said things that they actually didn't say.
Yes he's comparing slavery to welfare. He's also saying that slavery wasn't so bad. Do you think that is true?

He is saying slavery was bad, and with comparison saying welfare is also bad, like slavery. I agree with him.

If hosts didn't say things like this, people wouldn't listen. If you want to hear people talking in a sane manner, find your local NPR station.

Unfortunately a lot of people tend to have the attention span of a rabid chipmunk.

I hadn't heard of Quinn and Rose. I know that Hannity is busy telling people that Obama is a Marxist to bother with any other nonsense. That seems to be enough nonsense to keep him busy.

I used to like to listen to talk radio while running the treadmill, but any more, the insanity is just too much, too boring, too predictable.

I don't have a television so I hear a lot of insanity on the radio. It's patriotic to pay more taxes. Socialist is a "code word" for black. If our candidate doesn't get elected their will be riots. My favorite was from NPR. A woman saying that not having money was no reason to be poor because that's what credit cards are for. My friends with televisions seem to hear a lot of insanity, too.

Between federal, state, and local taxes, my children work almost half the day for someone else. I told them they aren't slaves. They're just sharecroppers.

It sounds like you're listening to left wing rant. We used to have that here ,but the market just wasn't there. I guess there is more of a market for right wing hooey and drivel than for left wing hooey and drivel.

The last time I was able to listen, it was Randi Rhodes telling us that Hurricane Katrina was Bush's fault. Honest! I wouldn't make up a ridiculous story like that.

Why make up stories when the truth is more incredible?

Actually, I get radio over the internet so I'm pretty much limited to what passes for news.
